So what now?
Continue to play in 70,000 seat Legion Landfill or in a cozy 14,000 seat setting at Regions Park?

RE: So what now?
Hope that Mike Davis does good enough this year that we can get into the eventual football-free Big East and avoid falling too far down the basketball ladder.

RE: So what now?
Could the City of Birmingham do another land swap and build a new municipal stadium there?

Without ownership of the stadium, UAB could still shut down the football program at a moment's notice. That is what the stadium being UAB's was all about. If you invest $75 million into a facility, then you know that they won't kill the program in 10 years. Pretty sure the City of Birmingham is about tapped out when it comes to borrowing money.

Too bad the Barons stadium a few blocks away will not hold enough for football.

With the Barons leaving, would Hoover entertain the idea of expanding Regions to seat 30,000?

Why would UAB participate in the land swap necessary for a baseball stadium?

That is a terrible idea. Shut it down before we stoop that low.

They can only kill the program if we let them kill it.

RE: So what now?
City could build the new baseball stadium so it can be converted into a football stadium. Kill two birds with one stone.

Our biggest stumbling block isn't our fans but are PCG and ADM going to fight? If the rumors are true that they won't stick their necks out any farther then we lose a lot of firepower.

Go to the national press. Call the BOT out. They have plenty of firepower to make this a fight but based on PCG's statement they are calling it quits.

Well, I kept hearing that Callaway getting an extension last year was a price we had to pay to get the stadium done. Since we aren't getting the stadium, we have no reason to have him around now. We should have fired him the instant the announcement was made about the stadium deal going down the tubes.

I can get behind that.

On point #2 I will note that he gets three years if he is sucking bad in year two. Four, if he's the typical mediocre candidate.

Agreed. CNC not being fired only reaffirms the press release earlier that UAB's administration is pulling a Vichy 01-france and calling it quits.
