All of these things would improve for UAB if it had its own on-campus stadium.
I wish more UAB students would realize this. I've already seen posts on facebook today saying we need more parking spaces or money for some other programs instead of a stadium.
What do you expect. This is mostly a me, me, me instant gratification generation. Not all the students mind you.

The source of the money isn't the same source that would be used for "some other programs".
Parking spaces would actually increase as a result of the OCS.

If they don't build a football stadium on that spot, that doesn't mean they'll build any new parking spaces or decks there instead.

Those who make that claim probably have their true allegiance somewhere else other than UAB. It's sad but if students attending UAT or AU show allegiance publicly to other instate institutions especially this time of year they would be harassed to no end. I'm just mad as hell right now.

This has been spoken to ad nauseum, but here goes. Parking is a problem on EVERY college campus. If you're too lazy get to campus early enough, park and walk to class its your own fault. The money was raised. It does not come from university funds. Go to any corporation in the state and tell them you need them to donate $15 million for a new drama building and tell us the response you'd get. It really amazes me how uninformed some people are. Do people even think for themselves anymore? But, I guess, that's the best way to control them - keep 'em ignorant while they think they are not.

I agree. I graduated from UAB in may and I go to Auburn now. Parking is much worse down here than at UAB. So I ride the bus to class. People are just too lazy to walk a little farther or show up for classes earlier.

When I was at Auburn, my room mate and I took turns driving the other one to class when we could. Zero parking on that campus and we lived at what was then called Eagle's West. We walked out of the front of ourcomplex and across the commuter parking lot. It was about 2 miles to class. Great in the Fall and Spring. Winter time, not so much. And there was no bus.
