The Nancy "Witch of the North" Z and the BoT (freakin X grads) have underestimated the will of the community.

I see some articles saying it's over. It wasn't over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor! (borrowed that one).

The powers that be, including ALL on the board, need to continue to hear the voice of the community and the fans.

This will take patience, lots of communication, constant pressure - but remember this is the coach we were blessed to have the last 16 years!

It aint over til WE say it's over, and Huggins is the man we want. Not P Cox or the puppet Nancy.

Bearcat fans - unite and we shall win!

Although Taft is worthless, the BOT and subsequently Nancy are selected by the Gov. with approval by the senate.

it's very far from over. from what i've heard no one's contract was renewed within the athletic dept. they are holding off until there is a new athletic director. surely they aren't going to restaff the whole damn department.

what a cluster **** that would be. my guess is that if you envision the worst possible scenario, that is what we will get from the X grad and his puppet.

this is worse than any nightmare I could have thought of.

While we all agree that this is very poor strategy upon the part of Nancy and the board (Snow White and her 7 dorks), this also gives me a ray of hope that Huggins will be renewed as the first act of the new athletic director. Let's hope Goin gets a huge say in naming the New AD when he retires.

another way to look at it - what AD wouldn't want a revenue generator like Huggins as the coach?

After reading that the athletic department costs ~ $20M, and is self-supporting, I can't see how dropping Huggins will help the department.

Keep Huggins!!!!!

it may be poor practice, but it isn't all that uncommon. some presidents come in and don't change a thing. others come in and turn the place upside down. there are institutions who have the same faculty, staff and administration for thirty years, and then in a two year period are entirely wiped out. what usually happens are that some are asked to stay, others are reassigned, and others are asked to resign and are sent packing with the "best regards and thanks" of the school.

just a thought, she probably made no secret about her plans when she interviewed in front of the board of trustees. she may be turning uc on it's end, but she had to have told the board that that was what she intended to do. if she had lied and said otherwise, SHE'D be the one getting the boot right about now. sooo, those that hired her did it because they wanted things like this to happen.

in closing, i've always found it odd that the board of trustees, who basically run the school, spend less time on campus than anyone. it is the perfect design for ineffecency. kinda reminds me of the bcs.

this issue is for one of the winningest coaches in all of college basketball - I don't want to return to a hit or miss program when we have one of the best right now!

It is very easy to send Taft a email. Just go to the State of Ohio website and you will find a email address to the Gov.

I sent one already and ask for him to step in an change the BOT before they ruin the UC program.

Brent,
Taft is also a graduate of UC Law, correct?

Regardless, that would take some serious backbone on his behalf. Has he shown you any of that yet?

I really like the title of this thread, because from what I've seen and heard, its absolutely true.

Mike- I hopoe you have some inside scoop which is good news because no matter how much I try to hope and think of positive resolutions to this debacle, I end up thinking that it is more likely than not that Huggs does not last beyond next season.

My hope is he gets the extension, but only if he wants it.

If he continues to see the support for him, he will continue the fight.

In addition to showing Darth Zimpher we support Huggs - it is just as important to show Coach Huggins too!

Any time you hear of an appearance by Huggs, people should show up wearing the Huggs t-shirts!

Huggs forever, Zimpher never
