Lemme look it up on ScarletKnights.com...will return with an answer.

Alright looked it up:
Football never.
Baseball we have an 0-2 record against you. Not sure when the games were played.
Men's Basketball never.
Men's Soccer never.
Women's Basketball never.
Women's Soccer never.
Softball never.
well, maybe one day then.

As far as being too far, S MISS is surely as close to most BE schools as BC is to MIAMI.

CIN AND LOU have been traveling to MEMPHIS AND S MISS fror years. BE teams have been traveling to MIAMI for years. The distance is irrelevant if it stablizes the conference.

S MISS has 11 straight winning seasons. They play tough teams OOC and beat them. I think, football-wise, they are a diamond in the rough. Here are some of the bcs teams they've beaten in the past 11 years: LSU, LOU, GEORGIA, CIN, ILLINOIS, PITT, ALABAMA, OKLA ST, SO FL, NEBRASKA. I find that to be an impressive resume.
Hmm if Southern Miss is doing that now, adding them to a BCS conference would make them into a major powerhouse. Ok let's get them aboard as well. Let's add them and Memphis.

Make North and South divisions I guess like this once we went to 12:
North South
Rutgers Southern Miss
Connecticut Memphis
Syracuse South Florida
Pittsburgh Louisville
Cincinnati West Virginia
#6 #6

or maybe we'd do things along the ACC divisions which I like alot since it more evenly distributes the talent.

-- I could live with adding Southern Miss and Memphis...although Southern Miss basketball has a LONG way to go to be on our level...The Eagles would also make Memphis a lot more comfortable in the new league.....

-- However....if the plan is ever to go to 12....you are going to have a very tough sell when you are trying to convince WVU to play in the Southern divison when its rivals are still in the North

-- I know UL and Southern Miss fans enjoyed playing each other in football....do the two schools have a close relationship?....would Louisville push for USMs inclusion if the choice was made to go to an all sports league

Good point we'd have to switch out West Virginia for Cincinnati if we're to go along those lines.

If your talking BB and FB than it has to be Memphis. If it's football only than I'd go with USM.

Do you think Tulane would be one? It works for me but I don't know! Is this something that you have heard?

I really think in time Southern Miss BB is going to be alright with Larry Eustacy being here. He's bringing in his own kids were going to renvoate our BB stadium and we are also expanding The Rock.

Hell, I'd rather add any current (and by current, I mean at this exact moment, not incoming members) CUSA over Buffalo! :D

As for football, I'd say Southern Miss.

For basketball, I'd say Memphis & UAB. Memphis & UofL have a long history but the last few months have shown they clearly view us as more of a rival than we do them. For UAB, it was growing into a good series. We dominated of late with Coach Anderson never beating Pitino, but most games were close and their style is fun to watch, although it makes for nerve racking games and the UofL coaches probably hate preparing for it.

I am not him but I would say so. In football you have been as dominate over us in the past as we have been in basketball over you. Not that you all have played us recently enough, but I would count you as a rival.

Yeah I'd say so. We don't exactly have a situation that would lead to a natural rivalry with our distance but we played each other so much as independents, almost every year for a while, that I think we at least were rivals. It probably has/will cool off considering the idiots in the CUSA office didn't allow us to play the last 2 years and we probably aren't playing real soon again, but I think the Eagles got people much more excited coming into Cardinal Stadium/PJCS than most other CUSA teams in football.

I can second that on the Southern Miss side. I know in 2002 we wanated to beat you guys so bad in The Rock and we even had two chances but damn if we didnt go and miss two field goals in overtime. That was one of the hardest hitting games i have ever seen played. Between Rod Davis and Micheal Boley popping Dave Ragone and Dwayne White popping Mickey DeAngelo

Memphis, Cincy, and Louisville go together like peanut butter and Jelly. How many years have they been in and out of conferences together? Usually Memphis and Cincy would move on together and Louisville would lag behind...so I have a gut feeling this time it will be Memphis that finally catches up.

I don't love memphis...I love to hate them and no other rival can really take their place with old school Louisville fans. I go back to Dana Kirk...I hated Dana Kirk. They are the closest thing to Kentucky I can think of...Oooooh I hate blue....lol.

I enjoyed all of the old C-USA rivalries. SoMiss was the best in Football.

No doubt! The S.Miss/Louisville game was really starting to heat up and become a good rival. I sure hope we will get the invite when the Big East split occurs so we can continue the series! I know that we probably won't be playing each other for OOC games, so the Big East invite is about the only way we could renew the rivalry.

I don't think the divisions would be that hard to set up if we looked along cusa and bigeast lines. First of all, without 12, there is no reason for divisions. With 12, conferences must have divisions to play a championship game.

I would set them up this way: UNITED from the cUNITEDsa and EAST from the biGEAST.

UNITED: CIN, LOU, MEM, S MISS, USF, ECU.
EAST: SYR, CONN, PITT, RUTG, WVU, NAVY.
