I just read Doug Segrest's recruiting article on Jonathan Wallace commiting to USM and noticed that his high school coach is Woodrow Lowe who was a coach at at UAB. UAB is NOT mentioned in the article, but it stirred a memory in my mind from a conversation I had with a very angry young coach who had just been demoted by Wayne Bolt from Linebacker coach to "Special teams" coach and was NOT happy about the way he had been treated. He left the staff after that season and was hired at a state high school. Now he is head coach at Central of Phenix City and his star player, ranked behind only Hueytown's Jaboo Winston at QB in Alabama and #20 nationally by Rivals.com., has commited to Sothern Miss.

I don't know if Lowe's treatment at UAB under DC Bolt was a factor in Wallace's choice after these years, but it certainly would not have helped. I would like to ask Lowe how he talks about UAB with his team today. In our present situation, we don't need for the coach at such a school to have antagonism toward UAB. Jonathan Curry, 6-2,224 lb TE, on the same team has commited to Purdue.

A coaching change can help that. (I know that it wasn't this coaching staff that he coached in)

Without looking, Lowe & Callaway may have played at Alabama together, at least for a year or so.
