Quote:The Wonderlic test is a mental aptitude test used by NFL teams and many other industries. It is given at least once to NFL prospects, usually at the Combine. The test, which was first designed in 1937 to measure cognitive ability, has 50 questions that must be answered in 12 minutes. The questions get progressively more difficult, so few people finish all 50.
The score is the total number of correct answers. The average score in the United States is 22, and a score of 10, according to Charlie Wonderlic Jr., president of Wonderlic Inc., is the lowest score at which a person can be considered literate. Only one player, former Bengals punter and Harvard graduate Pat McInally, is known to have scored a perfect 50, in 1975. Utah State WR Kevin Curtis came close a year ago when he scored a 48. This year's top score was produced by Iowa DT Jared Clauss with a 45. Two former Duke transfers, Delaware DE Shawn Johnson (42) and Georgia TE Ben Watson (41), were not far behind.
It should be noted that this is not an end-all test of intelligence, however, it is a good measure. Another good note:
Quote:What is unique in Winslow's situation is that he had yet to hire an agent at the time of the Combine. Agents often have versions of the Wonderlic test that they use to prepare their clients. Last year, a player who scored very low the first time the test was administered nearly quadrupled his score when another team measured him again weeks later. So it is important to remember that the test results could be skewed by savvy agents.
To see the results of those at the 2004 combine:

Thanks I wish they would break it down by pro team, then we could see what pro teams tend to pass so called better athletes for smarter guys. Yeah, I could do it myself, but I'm lazy.
Manning a 39? Could have fooled me.
