I question whether we can beat Memphis. Or even unless FAU.

I don't want to hear what great things CAllaway did off the field and how he may have saved UAB football after Watsons mess. He did not save a damn thing as witnessed today. There were some off the field problems, and Callaway may have fixed those problems, but he destroyed the program in doing so. You don't burn down the house to fix a leaky faucet.

Don't let Blazr catch you saying that MB.. He might really lose it.. I completely agree, btw. Who the F cares if you have a squeaky clean program if you are out getting embarrassed every Saturday. UAB football has never been very successful, but callaway has made us one of the worst, if not the worst, program in d1 right now. We are a laughingstock.

We could have a program in the sewer, and suck.

Wait. We tried that.

While I don't believe they are the only options available, I'd prefer to stink clean than stink dirty.

And this is not a defense of Callaway's coaching. I just marvel at some things people say.

blazr already really lost it.

We need new energy. The first step is to go to the BOT meeting this coming Friday. We are expecting good news! The coaching issue will have to be addressed. It can be now or it can be after the season. Either way is fine with me at this point.

Those thoughts crossed my mind after the Tulane game.

Serious, this is the first time. Wow, after Tulane I question whether we would beat ANYBODY at the collegiate level.

Callaway was never the right choice for this program. No matter what anyone says about what he did off the field, others could have done that AND won games. He's incompetent, and never should have been given the helm.

Mackin and Garrison are complicit in the destruction of this football program. And don't feed me any B.S. about how an on-campus stadium will fix our problems. Lipstick. Pig. Yeah, I said it.

I don't think he's advocating for a return to days of rapists and idiots on the team to win ballgames. There are plenty of teams out there who have clean programs that don't suck.

Guess you missed an important caveat in my post. No worries. I bolded it for you because I'm helpful like that.

I didn't say you were either. You "marveled at some things people say" as if he didn't have a point. He does. Everyone loves to say how Callaway cleaned up the program and none of that really amounts to a hill of beans. He met half of the minimum criteria to be a successful coach, but absolutely sucked at the other half.

Comparatively, it doesn't mean much. Even I could field a team that could manage not to get arrested, rape underage girls, or flunk out of school.

And it would be an improvement over what we had when he he got here.

As i said Smaug in the original post, he may have cleaned up the off the field problems, but in doing so, he has put the program in a worst overall situation. We had a leaky faucet. We called Neil the plumber, and he came in and burned down the house.
