RE: OT- Video Games
Rented Battlefield 3 yesterday in hopes of understanding the fascination and I have to say...I still don't get it.

Graphics look good and the gameplay is fine, but I'm afraid I may have just lost interest in FPS. Last one I really played was Halo 3 and that was almost exclusively LAN games in the fraternity house.

I've been playing MW3 now since it came out.

I have to say that it is really getting old. The single player this time (aside from the first couple of levels) was truly uninspired. The multiplayer is the same pig with a different shade of lip stick.

I use to have a blast with these games but if all they are going to do is change the maps, add a few guns, and some new music then to hell with it.

to each his own Paul. I've always liked the MW gameplay online so the upgraded graphics and guns are all I really need.

Yeah, so you aren't pissed you have to blow 65 bucks on some new guns and slightly upgraded graphics each year?

eh, not really. the maps are better, the graphics are better, I get to continue the story in the new campaign, and I can continue to play with my friends. if I have to spend $65 once every couple of years I don't care. I wouldn't have bought a second copy of MW2, but this is different.

The next game I get will be Battlefield 3. I'm not a fan of first person shooters, but I played the beta and really enjoyed it. I've been playing SOCOM Confrontation for about 2 years now and it's really the only game I play.

I am playing Skyrim now and it is a blast. I was going to get Battlefield 3 but got turned off by Origin (EA's PC client), and am boycotting for now.

my brother is a fan of Elder Scrolls and has been going on and on about Skyrim. I'm planning on getting in to it once I've tired of MW3.

RE: OT- Video Games
Sold my 360 to get a PS3. The blu ray player is a big advantage. And I didn't particularly care for the 360 controller. Too used to the nintendo, PS controller layout.

Just started playing FPS games. Rented and played both Call of Duty MW3 and Battlefield 3 in the last week. I liked COD a lot better. Plus, with COD, online gameplay was free whereas BF3 wasn't if you didn't own it and have the code to put in (similar to NCAA).

I play mostly NCAA12, but also have MLB 11 and Madden 11 along with other games that I don't play a whole lot. Got Mirror's Edge for like $10 the other day. Have yet to play through it, but remember playing a demo that made me think it was kind of interesting.

Gamertag SouthJag08. Feel free to add.

What kind of game is Skyrim? Shooting? I've been hearing a lot about it but have no idea what it is. I might have to check it out.

If you like dragons, mages, warriors, trolls, giants, etc then you'll love Skyrim. People literally put hundreds and hundreds of hours into the Elder Scrolls games. That's how good these games are.

It's the 5th game in the Elder Scrolls series, but honestly you don't need any prior knowledge from the other games to play it. There is a lot of overlap form the previous game, but it's merely historical stuff. You can read about it online or in game. I know quite a bit about the history of the world and what's going on and I've only played Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion and now V Skyrim.

Skyrim has moved 3.4 million units in just two days!

Anyone played Deus Ex, Arkham City, Dead Island, or Goldeneye: Reloaded?

All games that I have at least some interest in, haven't played any of them though.

Goldeneye is a classic among classics. I still have my N64 and play it rarely.
