The dominoes are once again beginning to fall in the world of conference realignment.

Yikes. The Big East has quickly become the Big Least.

Not too worry. Temple will be the savior the Big East is looking for.

RE: West Virginia accepted to Big 12
If it were up to me I'd go to the Big East in a half a second - IF the conference could somehow hold onto it's BCS bid... but I don't think it will happen at this point...

So, since my personal conference that I laid out isn't ever going to happen - and since the Big East is arguably the equal to the MAC now - AND ConfUSA is IMO a step down from the MAC at this point... I say stay in the MAC and ride it out.

We missed our shot to move years ago and have been left at the front door this time - might as well be happy in a stable conference and hope for the best.

Isn't the Big 12 the conference with 10 teams and the Big 10 the conference with 12 teams? It all makes sense.

I agree, this whole thing is ridiculous.

The conference that makes the most sense from a geographic standpoint for Toledo is the Big Ten. Of course, there is no chance of that ever happening. Therefore, Toledo should stay in the MAC and be the class of the conference. If we continue to schedule a couple of national powers each season (like we kind of did this year) then we will have the chance to show the country how good the team really is.

and they still won't care because we're in the MAC

Exactly...There are relative few, outside of MAC fans who know anything about this conference.

Who knows what is going on behind the scenes, but I have yet to see UT linked to anything...and I'm not talking Big East. It would be nice to at least be mentioned here and there, but the only school that may be considered to move out is Temple. I'd really like to see UT, along with a few MAC schools branch off with some of the remaining CUSA schools. Thus far, that does not appear to be on the drawing board

I agree this would be the most logical move. Unfortunately, this whole thing is ONLY about Money $$. The NCAA, and the powers that be, only care about the schools that bring it in... I feel like a lot of Mid Major schools are going to left out in the cold. And the NCAA could care a less.

RE: West Virginia accepted to Big 12
actually, football fans know the mac. in hawai`i, as far from the midwest as possible. folks who like football, bartenders, people w connections to mac (alumni, from the area, or family to), etc... know toledo, even if they don't know the mac. now, the average schmuck who watches MNF and the occasional big college game might see the mac as a joke, but i'm surprised how many people in recent years suprise me w "toledo, they're pretty good this year.?." even when we aren't.

the rockets are one of those mid major type schools that people know, at least in football. however the conf stupidness lalys out the rockets will likely be in the mac, and we have shown that when we are a mac powerhouse we compete nationally, play in bowl games and get on tv. a better league would be nice, but until the big ten or some cherry picked cusa-mac-big east rust belt dream league comes along and adds the rockets there's nowhere better to go and at least we aren't stuck in a league that is blowing itself up. we're in first place packing the house and on tv. all is good. go plan a tailgate or invite friends over or out to watch the next game.
