RE: GAME #8 - at Davidson
Went to their board. There seems to be a lot of message board fighting going on. Hopefully their team is having similar issues.

It wasn't pretty but Campbell's win was necessary for the continued growth of the program. We did not play well until the fourth quarter. It is good to win but hopefully this is a wakeup call that the team needs to give effort and attention for all 60.

Agree....this should help going into the Morehead game next week.
Good Campbell crowd - maybe 35% wearing orange? Several left, though, with a couple minutes left. I even suggested heading to the car early myself...glad I didn't!!
Last year DC scored the go-ahead winning touchdown with :13 left and today we tie it up with :13 left.

RE: GAME #8 - at Davidson W 26-20 3OT (5-3)
I think it is a sign of the growth of the program that CU can play poorly and still win the game. CU could not establish the run like they wanted, in part because of injuries to most of the running backs. CU continued to have problems with defending the pass. The Davidson QB had all day to throw the ball. I continue to be bewildered at why opposing coaches don’t continue to throw the ball against CU. I suspect this week’s game will be different as the league’s (and one of the NCAA’s) leading pass offense in Morehead State faces the league’s worst pass defense in CU.
You have to hand it to Braden Smith in this game. For 3 quarters he was clearly having his worst game so far and was flustered and missing his receivers badly. But in the fourth quarter, he totally turned it around and really led the team and ended up getting a second consecutive PFL Offensive player of the week award. The guy is a winner, and I hope CU can continue to get more players like him.

Pics are posted on the Davidson board of a play that some Wildcat fans should have been a DC touchdown. Was this their first drive of the 2nd half? I wasn't in the stadium at that time, but thought I heard "Davidson touchdown". It was still 7-3 when I returned, though.

I agree, it's another step in the learning curve to see this team bounce back after three poor quarters and find a way to win. Safe to say that wouldn't have happened last year. Now on to taking care of business this weekend. Need a big crowd, this group of seniors took a big chance on this program and deserve it.
