Worst University Website among the top 100 U.S. Universities?
This needs to be made better...
I know a lot of people think of the BCS conferences purely in terms of football and to a lesser extent basketball. However, it means a great deal more than that considering athletics are the long running sales and marketing campaigns the larger universities use for positioning themselves in the minds of prospective students. Wouldn't it be grand if the web site was more user friendly and aesthetically pleasing to the eye?

Pitt is working on it.
I filled out a questionnaire a couple of weeks ago about the website. I was very honest.: )
I would expect the .edu site to be much improved prior to the next academic year.

I just filled one out too. I hope it helps to get them to move on this - the overall feedback that is, not just my feedback alone...

You guys should see the way the law school site used to be. As a law student you needed to go to the law school site, click a link to something called the "extranet" and then register for courses in some separate window. It was really unreal. And nobody knew how you got what classes you did - it was just up to the registrar and had nothing to do with first come, first served, etc. It was really hilarious. Then to change classes you needed to hand in a paper form. You all should have seen the line on the first day of add/drop!

I think Miko and I are talking about the general .edu site rather than an intranet for a specific school within the Uni.
My freshman year ('93 at CMU) was waiting in line at different desks along the halls signing up for classes.
Thinking back on that, isn't that crazy!??!?!?

I knew what you guys were talking about. I was just kind of saying as a whole Pitt seems to have some backward technology in place amongst their websites, etc. and throwing out the law school as an example. Once the law school got integrated with the rest of the school technologically speaking it actually made things a lot easier. Now registration occurs on my.pitt.
