Creighton attendance
From CBS Sportsline:

"Creighton didn't make the NCAA tournament last season.

They were in the CBI.

And yet the Bluejays still averaged more than 13,000 people for home games at the newly named CenturyLink Center, which is a testament to the support there is for college basketball in Omaha."

Amazing. Creighton is a private school. No way they have the alumni base in Omaha, that UALR has in Little Rock. Biggest problem for us is changing the culture in this city where everyone is a pig fan. Limited interest in basketball, compared to a city like Omaha, may be an equally big problem.

And yet Nebraska is a parallel situation to Arkansas. Only one BCS school in the state, and no pro teams.

I swear, with all the razorback stuff slapped all over my classmates social media pages, you'd think we all got our degrees in Fayetteville. It's BIZARRE. OF course we know why. 1) UAF has been the focal point for the WHOLE STATE by design for the last 50 years. and 2) FOOTBALL is the unofficial religion of the South. 3) basketball is not as popular here as it is in MVC country unless there is a BIG RED HOG painted on the court. UALR can't compete with that. You can't support the Trojans without defying GOD and COUNTRY! How's that for a cultural hurdle.
