I hate the South. I'd rather watch a football game in a blizzard than sweat my ass off in the South.

Just like I hate the miserable North.

I live in the snowbelt. If I didn't like the cold I would have moved to the South long ago.

I wish Syracuse played in the outdoors sometimes. Especially now in the ACC we would have a huge advantage in the snow and freezing rain. It would be hard to get fans in the seats though.

Why not Nashville? It would be drivable for Louisville, Cincinnati, ECU, USF, UCF, WVU, and SMU. Temple, Villanova, Houston and Rutgers would just be out of reach with one driver (13-14 hours), but it would be doable with 2 people.

The Big East really needs to think about it's product, TV and the BCS. Going to NY for a neutral championship game will be a disaster. They should go with the PAC12 and CUSA model that plays at the home field with the best record. It'll guarantee a packed house, atmosphere...especially if the game is being played for a BCS bowl. Playing in NY would mean 15k and quiet. It'll look like a MAC crowd. Even the ACC struggled with neutral site games.

Nashville would be cool. Philly would also be good. Winner's home field would also be good.

There is a reason the superbowl is always in the south or a dome (upcoming NY excepted). Sure regular football is a cold weather sport, but your priemer showcase game needs to be in a good weather venue. Frankly this is not that big a deal though... could care less so long as we get to 12 and actually have one.

Home field of the division winner with the best record sounds great... but Boise?

Newsflash, Yankee: you don't sweat your ass off in Florida in Janurary. You can however, still see lots of bikinis.

To play devil's advocate for a second.....one problem I can see.....and it would only be a problem for USF, Pitt (for the one season) and Temple (if they were ever invited) is the any teams with a Pro Team stadium.....would need to make alternate arrangements for a Championship game every season.....if by chance they were the host team.

It isn't a big impediment.....right now....long term....it would only affect USF...they could probably make either arrangements with RayJay....if not you would have options of Tropicana Field or the Citrus bowl (wouldn't that be a hoot....the Orlando Sentinel would love that).

Also would the league really want to possibly host it's championship game at Nippert or Boise State's small stadium? These things may be why they keep bringing up NYC.

I guess you won't be going on any road trips to FSU or Miami? The ACC is definitely the conference for someone who hates the South.

Philly will most certainly not happen with the basketball schools telling us to shove it.

I assure you that a championship game at sold out Nippert with a BCS bowl on the line would create an amazing atmosphere to see both in person and on television.

The U.Cincinnati would play a championship game at Paul Brown Stadium
If we had the best record. PBS hold 65,000. MrP3242

This is the worse idea they could have made. Just how many people do they actually think will come to a championship game in New York the 1st week of December??? This game needs to be played at the number one seed's home stadium for this championship thing to work for the Big East or it's going to flop bigger than CRAP, and that's not an opinion.

RE: Yankee staduim to host championship game?
New Yankee Stadium seats approx 52,300 for football...and last year, for the first ever Yankee Pinstripe Bowl Game...everything went right for that game...as the "in-state" team Syracuse, became bowl eligible for the first time in 6 years and was selected...so even with almost a year to sell tix, plus the HOME team in the game...only 38,000 tix were distributed (much less in attendance) and that was with the in-state HOME TEAM playing in the game.

Good luck if a Big East Championship game is Air Force vs USF/UCF or SMU/UH vs UCF/USF...as that game might be lucky to have 5,000-10,000 inside the stadium on game day (especially if any or both of the 2 divisional winners win their titles in the last conf game of the season the week before).

Or...they might be lucky...and have Rutgers play WVU...but its a HUGE gamble...but if the Yankees want to pay the $$$ to host (field will already be ready because of games scheduled there for Nov and the late Dec Bowl Game), go for it I guess.

All the Big East has to do is watch the FIRST Pac-12 Championship Game this year...played at a Pac-12 team's HOME STADIUM (team with best conf record) and realize how STUPID it would be to have a neutral site Championship game when about HALF of your conf is located 1,000 plus miles from NYC...and how some divisions are won on the last weekend of the regular season (just 6-7 days prior to the Championship Game).

Good luck getting tons of fans from those schools to fly to NYC on short notice and find hotel reservations on a Dec Holiday weekend in NYC with just a few days notice.

2010 Pinstripe Bowl Game

Football Games played at BASEBALL STADIUMS are the worst...as the seats/stadium layout are TERRIBLE for football!!

Why? Just like during the season, the game would be on a Saturday, and NFL games are still all on Sunday at that point (Saturday games don't start till the last week of the season). As it is now, some of those teams play games on Saturdays with the NFL team playing on Sundays. It just happened this weekend in Cincy, and I attended both games.
