I don't get it SmallVoice...we all loved the Big East and what it could have been had teams not left and other teams were added. But at this point we need to thank our lucky stars we're getting out of here. Don't cry, we might be saved!

Sorry, Krux. I just can't say that I'm 100% behind the move. As much as I want Louisville to be in the best conference possible, I also want us to belong somewhere. We do not belong with Texas & Iowa State. We belong with Cincinnati & Houston.

If this is true and once the announcement is made, I'll shut up and back my alma mater 100%. But frankly I was kind of excited at the prospects of the conference going forward.

Having said that, I also know that even if UofL had turned down a Big 12 invite, if WVU was next in line, they'd have accepted it, leaving us in even worse shape than we were before.

The silver lining is that, if they're inviting UofL now, I think that's a good indication they may go to 12, and Cincy may end up with us. That's my prayer anyway.

That is the difficult part about it, if you are a BE member right now and the Big 12 offers you a spot you almost have to go. Otherwise they will just take someone else from the BE.

Has Louisville received a Big 12 invite? They wouldn't have a meeting announcing they are interested in joining the Big 12 without an invite. I think if anything they come out of this meeting reasserting their allegiance to the Big East 'at this time'.

He has a lot of power with the local restaurants. I'm not sure about UL.

Yay. UC will now have 2 free OOC trophy games a year in Miami Ohio and UL. I'd say rivalry but those squads have forgotten what those things look like.

Pitino has already come out and said last week that he preferred the Big East but its Louisville First for him so he's 100% behind any move we make.

Hopefully. Louisville and Cincy never played when they were in different conferences in the early 90's, and this year will be the first year we have played Memphis in basketball since we were in different conferences (we also never played them when they were in the GMW).

Louisville does not belong in the Big 12. SEC? Sure! But the Big 12 makes no sense for either side. I guess Iowa State would become the Cardinals rivalry game in the conference. There is also a geographical disconnect without Missouri being there. All the things that made college sports so wonderful are slowly having the life sucked out of them.
