UW students and band are nerally forced by security to leave the party in the stands after the game ends.

Are their 18 - 20 yr olds any less interested in football than NIU 18-20 yr olds?

If we need a gimmick to start a tradition and break the habit then have VCB promote and award one random NIU student exiting the game after 00:00 with a semester of free textbooks.

The students also show up in the second quarter :)
UW fans (non-students - students make a small % of the fans at the game) stay for the bands 5th quarter which is wildly popular.

RE: Western Michigan Game Thread!!!!!
As someone who sits on the westside, it amazes me when the game has already started 10-15 minutes ago, and I see the eastside ticket line of students is hundreds deep. Students have all week to get a ticket, yet I'd say a good 30% wait in line until game time to finally get their ticket. That's why it appears that a lot students don't show up until the 2nd quarter, they're all waiting in line for a ticket.

When does the ticket office open, compared with when tailgating starts? If students could get their ticket at the start of tailgating then that could be avoided (unless they'd lose the ticket in their drunkenness during tailgating)

kinda late for this season but perhaps a sign should be posted at the student entrance above the gate next yr to notify the uninformed when and where tix are available....many probably dont read the STAR and sometimes you just godda put info under the noses of people inundated with messages and communications from so many sources daily.

Maybe we do need to cater to the student fan base some to help build it up, at least for now. I like the idea of giving away some kind of prizes in the 2nd half, preferably the 4th quarter.
