With the 72 hour period it'll be Monday for anything official.

Sax,

We have been told that the 72 hours rule requires 72 business hours (or weekday, rather), which would put an announcement of invites on Wed. Then, we would all still have to accept. Not sure if that's accurate, though.

I had my doubts before as to whether or not the rumors were true that this Genshaft lady was blackballing UCF. But this puts those doubts to rest. You don't take an action like this unless you really were the prick trying to keep them out, and now she's trying to act all buddy-buddy.

Genshaft is the type of corporate, backstabbing power-monger that I despise.

Meanwhile, some UCF fans can't bail out her conference and hitch their wagon to it quite quickly enough.

And if USM was in a position for an invite too? You wouldn't be? I don't get that type of smack talk.

It's not smack talk, it's just an observation, and no, I don't want any part of it. I haven't since last summer when the BE football schools didn't cash in the so-called "get out of jail free card." Since then, I've defended my school from disparaging comments here and there on this board, but I've in no way stated ANY desire for Big East inclusion. Search my posts if you want. I'd honestly rather we join the MWC straight up if given the choice.

Some of you are Jonesing to jump head first into a conference on the wane who's own members can't get out of it fast enough, and in which the most pivotal person to your interests right now is the same lady who's spent the past 2 years telling you to kiss her a$$.

Good luck with that.

As would anyone else whose current wagon is pulled by a small pony, when given the chance to upgrade to a wagon being pulled by some stout mules. Sure, mules might be half-donkey, and so what if everyone says that our conference is half-full of jackasses. At least mules strong and can pull their weight.

Of course, those of us in the Big East would all rather our wagons be led by a team with a half-dozen thoroughbreds like the Big 10 or SEC.

I like wagon analogies!

Southern Miss wouldnt even consider it. Our AD was pivotal in the development of the alliance. Mr G is probably the most connected and respected AD in the conference. If he thinks its a good idea, then I have no doubts.

Let's be honest. USM was never considered for the BE, there in lies the reason your AD was "pivotal" in the development of the alliance. No disrespect for your AD, he does a good job with the budget he's given. USM is a good program, but saying USM is above a BE invite is ridiculous.
