Have fun not coming to the Garden anymore! Those trips to Greensboro in March are going to be fun for your fan who makes the trip.

The ACC has been talking about rotating the ACC tourney through the Garden. Besides Syracuse will probably play St. Johns OOC in the Garden every year.

The ACC cant even sell out every day in Charolette why do you think they could sell out MSG and why would MSG believe they could sell out when they have a sure sell out with the Big East. Oh and SJU might not take that Cuse match up. They do just fine scheduling the likes of Duke, UCLA and many others in OOC play. They dont need the Orange as much as the Orange need them.

When Lavin was hired one of his goals was to cement SJU as NYC's team because he didn't like seeing the Cuse signs on cabs claiming it was "New Yorks Team". Blocking them from playing in the Garden would help him do that. Also help him recruit against the Orange. So in short playing Cuse doesn't help SJU at all.

The Big East tourney without 'Cuse isn't a guaranteed sellout. We brought most of the fans. 'Cuse guarantees close to a sellout if they're in the ACC tourney. 'Cuse also guarantees a sellout at the Garden for a match between SJU and SU. SJU and SU have been playing each other for 50 years. I doubt they stop playing each other.

Boston College fans will travel to the Garden. They won't travel to Greensboro. Pitt will travel to the Garden. They won't travel to Greensboro. Syracuse will travel in hordes to the Garden. We won't travel to Greensboro.

The ACC needs to rotate the tourney between the Garden and the TWC arena. BC, Pitt, SU, and Maryland will be happy with the Garden, and the NC schools will be happy with Charlotte. Miami has a large alumni base in the Northeast I'm sure they would be in favor of the Garden too. Duke likes playing in the Garden, so they would be in favor of rotating through.

Sometime in the future the ACC tourney will be in the Garden I guarantee you. 04-cheers

Cut USF some slack, they are going to be a mid to upper level powerhouse in the Sunbelt in a few years.

Totally sour grapes. The OP sounds like the Texas fans that actually think Arkansas "regrets" going to the SEC. Maybe Syracuse, Pitt and Arkansas aren't among the richest guys in the neighborhood any more, but that ignores the fact that they live in Beverly Hills now instead of Compton. I know what I'd choose when faced with that choice ( as well as every university president).

Okay, there are two separate set of games in the Big East tourny almost every day that they sell out every year. Now to claim that the Cuse fans buy all those tickets is just silly, especially when they dont play in the first round normally. Also yes Cuse Pitt and BC will travel but how about FSU, GT, Clemson, WF, NC St, UVA, VT and Miami? You know the meat of the conference? Yes five teams would travel but the other 9? No, way.

Yup...SU needs SJU. No comment.

Have a nice day.

Yes you do. How are you going to recruit NYC when you don't play there? Yeah sure once every few years you'll play coaches vs cancer or some other OOC game but if you want to be in the Garden every year you need SJU. You think your next coach will be able to recruit NYC when they don't play there multiple times every year?

There are alot of teams that recruit in NYC but dont regularly play in NYC. SU really doesnt need St Johns or any other team to reruit NYC or anywhere else. SU recruits nationally. They actually get more recruits from the rest of NY State than they get from NYC. ST Johns cant help SU with that can they ? Take a look at how many recruits SU has from NYC the last 5 years or the lack thereof and you will see that SU doesnt need St Johns for ANYTHING at all. Plus, SU has been filling up MSG much better than St Johns has the last 10 years. I remember watching ST Johns play other teams in MSG and it not even being half full on multiple occasions. Clearly, you are delusional in your views of St Johns importance.

04-bow Syracuse gets a lot of players from Maryland. Which means the move to the ACC will actually help us.

Interesting that some of you Pitt & Cuse fans post all kinds of flames putting down the Big East over here, but when a Big East fan posts something against Pitt & Cuse, you all claim it's a horrible injustice and begin the name-calling.

I haven't seen any Syracuse or Pitt posters flame the Big East, without being provoked. miko's taken subtle jabs, but other than that no one has really started anything.

If somebody posts on the Big East board though, we're told our opinions don't matter, that we're not welcome, and then to get lost. It's pretty ridiculous.

For instance I said "Cuse nation" in a thread where someone was saying he saw Syracuse apparel in Virginia. Is that flaming? No, no it isn't, but you then decided to flame me for no good reason. Telling someone "you're not welcome here" on an open forum, with hundreds of other people who do welcome me there, is idiotic.

I'm not sure where I've put the Big East down. I've seen some tongue in cheek comments and all. Its just better that we all stop responding to each other....

Do you ever do any research before you post?

Others have talked about the recruiting part of your nonsense already.

As for your point about SU not getting to play in the NYC...

Not counting BET games, SU has played (or will play) in the Garden 12 times during the regular season since 06-07. Only 4 of those 12 times (or one third, if you are math impaired) were against the Johnnies and in each of those 4 outings, there were more SU fans in the Garden then there were St. John's fans.

MSG will always have room for an SU game on their schedule each and every year. And as I have said in other threads on the syracusefan.com board, it doesn't even have to be against St. John's.

I'd like to see it be a rotation of UConn, Louisville, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Michigan State, etc. myself.

The only BE bb members I want to see us schedule on a regular basis are Georgetown (every year) and Nova at least 6 times every decade.

Eventually I foresee UConn becoming a conference opponent down the road.

Cheers,
Neil
