Seen NIU basketball lately? Yeah, lets stop playing UNI so we can play NIU..

It might take 10 years to accomplish it, but long term would be better for ISU.. we are better than NIU at everything else, why settle for being in their conference?

####, not this again.

Just want to remind everyone that ISU hasn't won the Valley in football or mens basketball (the 2 sports that matter) in 13 and 14 years respectively, and their NCAA drought (1998) is worst in the Valley and almost as bad as NIU's, and that ISU sucks.

I don't think you realize how much money it takes to accomplish what you are talking about. An entire conference moving up to FBS at once? Or a handful moving up at the same time and finding others that would join you in a new conference? A new conference made up of schools that are new to FBS or willing to join would no doubt fail almost immediately.

Granted, the MVC is a far superior bball conference right now, but unfortunately for them, football is the carrot that most institutions are chasing. The $$$$ and name recognition is greater.

This thread is going on lockdown. Certain posters seem only intent on resurrecting it to stir up a pot that has long since boiled over (i.e. trolling). To those -- knock it off.
