Saying that UC was only invited to the Big East because they promised to fire Bob Huggins. Saying that Cincinnati is on thin ice with the Big East and close to being kicked out or not invited when the conference splits. Basically saying our major revenue sports are in shambles and that we need to clean it up in order to stay in the Big East (nevermind the fact that both were in the postseason last year and actually won games), and then saying that they dropped a trial balloon on a Kentucky message board and it shows that they would consider the Big East and that the Big East would consider dumping Cincinnati and replacing them with Kentucky. I mean, my god. That board is usually solid but a few people lost temporarily lost their minds over there.
So the Big East went to all of the trouble of adding UC just so they can kick them out in a few years?
That is hilarious.
Seems to me our shambles of a football program somehow managed to beat WVU a couple of years ago at WVU and almost did a few years earlier at Nippert.
I'm not saying we are at the point of WVU in football in terms of stadium, fan support, etc yet- but our team can certainly play with theirs.
Hence your new found homecoming in the Big East.

Exactly. I know a lot of people think UC is modeled after Virginia Tech or Ohio State. Some even said Pitt, which I can see definitely. But the program I think UC can be most similar to is Wisconsin. Wisconsin is a solid, grind-it-out defensive team with a good offense and depth and they're consistently a national presence. There are years when Wisconsin hanges around the Top 10, but they're usually a Top 20 or 25 program with the potential to contend for a conference title and have a dream Top 10 or 15 year here and there. That's the way I can see UC going in years to come.
