Guiness and Sam Adams are very good. Red Dog and Milwaukee's Best are the absolute worst.

When I was younger, I loved beer - of course it was all I could afford. Now, give me a Jack Daniels and Coke anytime.

Cheers,
Neil

Man there are so many, but if I had to pick one beer to have on a deserted island, it would be Corona w/ a lime.

I'VE HAD BOTH Stoney's and Rolling Rock at the brewery. They were both great. In truth, Stoney's fresh was the best beer I ever tasted.

Tennessee Whiskey is okay, but if you want the good stuff you got to drink some good ole Kentucky bourbon. Try Makers Mark for smoothness. It stacks up to JD quite well. My personal preference is Knob Creek.

I forget the difference between Tennessee Whiskey and Kentucky Bourbon. There's one step different in the porcess, but I can't remember which one. I'm pretty sure it involves adding sugar to the whiskey. Anyway, they both have their place...I usually prefer to sip (good)bourbon straight and mix whiskey.

And I do likes my Knob Creek!

I am a lurker on the board but spirits is universal.

For beer, I am a fan of the following:

Bohemia
XX - Amber
Modelo Especial (Negra Modelo is very good as well)- It is basically the non comercialized version of Corona.

All with limes sans Negra Modelo

I have lived in SD most of my life and mexicano cerveza is prevelant. Micro Brews are huge up and down the pacific coast and if you are ever in SD you need to stop into SD Brewing Company, Coronado Brewing Company, Pizza Port (Solana Beach), or Karl Straus Brewery for some excellent beers, imo.

For alcohol, I am a fan of the following:

Makers Mark and 7 with 2 limes.
Saphire and Tonic with 2 limes.

I am also a fan of wines, but feel that it is pretentious to sit around and discuss. JMO.

I don't think there is a difference.

Champagne is just sparkling white wine when it is not from Champagne (France).

Whiskey must be made in the USA to be called "bourbon".

The "Straight Dope" on Bourbon and whiskey...

In the Chicago we claim "Old Style" Beer. It is truly horrible sweet tasting.... uhhhh!

Our local brew (like Yeungling in PA or Shiner in TX) is Leinenkugel. It is good beer from WI.
