Does this arrogance sound familiar?
Last time I checked the map ... Louisville is located in the state of Kentucky. But Wildcats coach John Calipari doesn't acknowledge that, apparently.

Kentucky coach John Calipari took a little dig at Louisville in a recent interivew.
CAPTIONBy Andy Lyons, Getty ImagesWhile visiting Kentucky fans camping out for tickets to Big Blue Madness (which takes place on Oct. 14), Calipari went on and on about what makes Kentucky fans great. And then he went a bit further.

"It's a unique thing," Calipari said. "There's no other state, none, that's as connected to their basketball program as this one. Because those other states have other programs. Michigan has Michigan State, California has UCLA, North Carolina has Duke. It's Kentucky throughout this whole state, and that's what makes us unique."

Gotta love a good rivalry.

No, he just described ARKANSAS as seen from "the hill". But I have to give him credit for kicking some sand in UL and WKU's face.

Good coach. Bad at geography. Didn't realize Louisvilole and Western were also located in Kentucky.

That is beyond arrogance. We are all pretty familiar with Sun Belt teams being ignored, although Western is the class of the league. But totally dissing Louisville is going a little far. Louisville has "only" been to 8 Final 4's and won 2 National titles. This will be some great bulletin board material for Petino when Louisville plays UK this season. Also, while I haven't followed Louisville much lately, I know they used to draw 19,000 regularly to Freedom Hall. So, no, not everyone in the Commonwealth is a UK fan.

When I saw this and the reference that Louisville plays at Kentucky on New Year's Eve, it occurred to me that Little Rock will be Kentucky's next game played in, you guessed it, Louisville. We should be walking into an interesting situtation in that State.

Do you think we might get a little support from the Louisville fans, hmmm?

RE: Does this arrogance sound familiar?
I bet Calipari's comment was a deliberate jab at Louisville to further their rivaly because, you know, Kentucky actually PLAYS in-state teams.

I bet it moreso was a jab at Petino. Petino and Calipara can not stand each other.

RE: Does this arrogance sound familiar?
A good CEO would never ignore his competition and Louisville is definitely competition. I am sure that was deliberate. But he better be careful. Back during the newspaper war I talked to the UALR beat reporter for the Gazette and I mentioned a story in the Democrat. He said he didn't read the story, in fact, he said he never read the Democrat. That was the mindset at the Gazette. Ignore the Democrat and it will go away. Guess what happened .....
