After thinking about this some more, I started to see things in a broader light.

If this is the measure why someone should be removed from a job, then all of Obama's staff and most of the liberal and the conservatives politicians should be removed from their jobs as well.

Durbin, Waters, Reid, Pelosi and many others make comments like this all the time.

I don't care about what he said about Obama, like most other Americans, I have my own opinions about him and many other bureaucrats who live by sucking the public teat.

Since when are Americans not entitled to their opinion? Williams didn't say this during his football intro song. It seems like ESPN has the PC bug and is just covering their a$$ from any negative criticism .

As for Williams, I noticed from his body language in the interview that he just does not care what anyone thought of his comment. And I really do not believe this will be as financial set back for him in any way.

I think ESPN is a private company that can do as they please. He complained that ESPN trampled on his 1st Amendment rights, as if ESPN doesn't have 1st Amendment rights. Hank wasn't an employee, anyway. He wrote and recorded that song 20 years ago and they've stopped using it. If it had been a government decision or similar situation, then it'd be different. Oh, no it wouldn't, remember the woman who was accused of saying racist things and lost her job with the Department of Agriculture and turns out she didn't actually say what she was accused of?

And regardless of your or his or my or anyone else's political views, his demeanor and general uncouthness just made him look like an ignorant redneck. Roll Tide.

Well, like I said. His body language and several of his comments kind of make me wonder if he was angling for being dismissed?

I didn't care for the hat either.

People need to stop thing Freedom of Speech is a one-way street, because it isn't. Just like he felt theneed to compare the President of the United States or the Speaker of the House to the most hated man in the universe, ESPN exercised their right to send him on his merry way.

He'll be all right.

Raise your hand if there's nothing you could say that could piss your employer off enough to send you packing.

Yes, you have the right to say what you want. I also have the right to not employ people who reflect poorly on me.
