The game is much improved over 2005, IMHO. I'm playing the Xbox version.

The CPU actually runs the ball effectively now, WRs won't drop passes with no one near them, you can recruit in-season now, online play has been improved, etc.

Rentschler Field (UConn's stadium) looks excellent. They even finally put the Big East logos on the field at the 20 yard lines, both facing the press box. Unfortunately, they're now the old logos. :)

There is also still no Husky mascott in the game, which means you can't play in the Mascot Game as UConn.

Additionally, since there is no Husky mascot in the game, Lee Corso can only put on a UConn helmet (not mascot head) when he picks UConn to win that game.

There is also still no UConn fight song in the game. This is annoying because they have it in their college basketball (NCAA March Madness) game. The mascott too.

It is really better than last year. As far as the Big East Logo, I wish they would have kept the old one instead of the rip off C-USA retread.

Maize its really not a CUSA retread its really an update of the old Big East logo which is something thats growing on me more and more all the time. It definitely wasn't a bad idea since its more historical looking than the last BE logo.

Ncaa 2006, is the bomb! Papa Johns looks great! the game in a whole looks great. As far as on line play its better, but I wish you could display your team.

At first I didn't like the new logo, but like some else said it kind of grows on you.

Murph look me up on xbox live sometime, for a Big East game!

Receivers are still WAY too oppressive with deep ball fly routes. You can be in cover 4, with your coverage back, and the opponent can still throw it deep to their wideout (the locator is practically on top of the corner and/or safety) and catch it. This is very frustrating indeed. Typically if you walk coverage back in cover 3 or 4, you'd expect PICKS in that case with decent corners. I mean, they're in position before the opponent is even within 8 yards of the ball!

Most other aspects have been greatly improved, especially the running game, which now has more teeth than ever. I had some good running games online in 2005, like 170 yard days. In this one i've had 300 yard rushers. Much better blocking.

It's still very annoying that they switched the sprinting button on defense. I'd logged several hundred games the other way, so im still adjusting, though i've gone 9-1 (3 discs on the buggy server).

As a former top 100 player in 2005, I am sorely dissapointed that they left user catches so ridiculous on fly routes. A route that even very good teams complete 50% of the time or less should not be getting caught at 80%, or even half the time vs coverage designed to beat it.

I agree with Brista. The new logo is cleaner and more classic. the older one just looks very outdated and we don't need to be living in the past in this conference, eh?

Not on your own, but if you're an independant or playing in a non-BCS league, it is possible to get an invite to one of the 6 BCS conferences.

It has to make sense geographically though. If you're on the east coast, you're not going to get an invite to join the PAC-10, obviously. :)

Timing is also crucial. You have to be playing great at the same time someone in a BCS conference is really sh*tting the bed for them to get the boot and you to get an invite.

Additionally, if you want to use a 1AA team, you can swap out a team already in a conference and replace them with your 1AA team at the start of your dynasty/season.

2005 allowed conference changes, so I am sure 2006 will. I don't think timing has much to do with it though. For example, I played with Marshall for about 4 seasons in 2005 and was invited to the ACC after winning a few national championships in the MAC. In order to do this, they kicked UNC out and they joined the MAC. I thought that was just about as funny as it comes.
