We can berate our conference mates because we are in the conference. When a fan of another conference does it then it is pretty much smack talk.

And what do you mean by overrated anyway? Only one of those schools is ranked, and won't be after this weekend.

The Big East is basically headed exactly where they went last year, except WVA most likely won't be 8-4 going into a BCS bowl and getting blown out. That's why I ranked them 1. There is nobody else in the league that stands out. USF was there for a couple of weeks, Cincy hasn't been tested. I don't see how I'm berating the Big Least.

OK. Since I've been "split" into the Smack Talk forum now, I guess smack talk is now appropriate. The word overated is smack talk?? I guess I can see why the conference is falling apart, if that hurt somebody's feelings. No credence that I ranked WVU #1. Geez.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that you didn't actually do a true ranking. All you did was ball wash WVU and put everyone else into an "overrated" category. Many of you ECU fans crack me up over the fawning over WVU. Besides, your record is 1 - 3, so why are you even trying to call out any other school in another conference? I officially rank ECU as a POS school, and your record reflects this.

Yeah, I guess maybe youre half right. We also lost to USC and VA Tech. We're 1-3. We're in CUSA. We're nonAQ. We're not worthy, we're not worthy. What does any of that have to do with my opinion of the Big East teams and a poll? Next I'll be hearing, "I'm gonna go tell my Mom what you said". And by the way, I appreciate the fact that Cincy kicked the crap out of NC State. Next.

Nothing to do with the rankings (Coaches/AP). The thread started as "Rank the Big East" on the General page. This part of the thread was moved here to the Smack page. In all honesty I think West VA (based on performance to this point would be more than worthy of a BCS bowl. So far everyone else in the league to this pointwould not be. South Florida looked like a maybe a few weeks into the season until Pitt layeth the smackdown and Cincy looks good, but to me they haven't been tested yet. We'll find out on Oct 16 and Nov 22 how good Cincy is. But to me at this point in the season, it looks like the Big East from last year aside from West VA (based only on the LSU game)and if it ends up like it did last year then yes I think the rest are overrated and probably unworthy of an AQ bid as a conference hence the term "overrated".
