We just want to be good citzens and help the league in any way we can. And that means to win a lot of games.

I don't think Louisville will come in and be a bully. They certainly will not be the idiots that Miami was. The Big East doesn't need a new Miami. They need 3 or 4 nationally competitive teams each year. Louisville is certainly there now. Pitt, Syracuse and WVU have been there in the past and I believe will be there again much sooner than the national media thinks. It's too bad the Cards don't play Miami this year. How ironic would that be?

I agree 100% Woody. If we can get 4 teams in the top 40 every year, we will be a good conference. If three of those are top 25, even better....and if we can get one top 10 finish every year and a BCS win most years....super. I'm a UofL alumni and fan so naturally I hope we will consistently be the best team in the conference, but that doesn't mean being a bully or even winning the conference every year.

I think this league is going to very competitive, yes UL and Pitt should be the top two favorite teams this year.
Yes UL blasted both Cincy and USF last year but just a year before USF beat UL and the Cards beat Cincy by three.Pitt lost to both UConn and Syracuse last year.
I think there are going to be very close games. I do hope that our league champion goes at least 9-2 otherwise we wont have a high BCS ranking. But i wouldnt be surprise if the champ comes in 8-3 and we have a lot of 6-5,5-6 squads.

I heard the early line was LOUISVILLE -17 VS. PITT. I think that's a little outrageous. The Cards should be favored at this point, but not by a blowout.

That will settle down come game time, believe me.
Unless, of course, pitt has an awful season for no reason...everyone including me expects them to do well.
Professionals dont make the early lines...and by professionals I mean the people who REALLY stick their money in there. It's tough this early in the season, but if things go as expected i'd take pitt to cover that anyday...it'd be one of the better bets around.

The Cards weren't bullies in CUSA....so I don't see how they will be bullies in Big East?!?! And this isn't a knock on UofL....I have a lot of respect for UofL and as co-BE member, I want them to do well nationally.
(Yes, last year the Cards were dominate in BOTH football and basketball....I'm referrring to thier overall time in CUSA...they were not bullies.)
PS: WE need the Keg of Nails BACK in Clifton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Bearcats!!!!

I don't like the connotation of the word bully. I prefer dominant. You can dominate people without the connotation of being a bad guy. I'd rather have a team that goes about it's business in a clockwork manner and flat out dominates people than one that's intimidating with a bad boy image.

I think Cincy would have qualified as bullies in the old C-USA. They did a little more than dominate. They liked to talk trash, be overly physical, their players were known for getting into trouble....hey, their coach too. Yeah, they were real bad boys much like Miami in football. I see nothing wrong with it. I loved it from Miami, Oakland in the NFL...and if Cincy hadn't been such a rival, I would have loved their bad boy image as well. But for my school, I'd rather leave all the extra curriculum bad boy image behind and just flat out dominate.

Yea....we liked the image also......it all just seemed to fit, our color scheme, the player physiques, Huggins attitude- which the players adopted etc. It stinks the Pres. is trying to do away with this. It's all been part of the UC Mystique and now it's like, the Pres. is trying to make everything squeaky clean and boring......
Long live the Thugs!!!!!!!! Long live UC Hoops!!!!!!!
Go Bearcats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
