RE: WEMU
When will we be able to email RE via his Monday show? Someone on another thread said it would happen shortly. I hope he will not be cherry picking all of the easy questions to answer.

With all due respect to Wellock he should not be in the booth. He sure does not bring as much to the broadcast as Rob Rubick (not many do though). AW is very calm and quiet while Rubick brings a lot of good info.

Secondly they need to improve the sound quality. Could not hear the crowd at all. They could have been broadcasting from a quiet church. Between the lack of a complete sound and a quiet commentator I kinda felt like I was listening to a golf match.

Overall the broadcasts are lacking any energy. Pick it up WEMU.

I listened Saturday for a while.

These guys are Mr. Gloom and Dr. Doom. Monotone, negative, and either ill-informed or dumb. They rip some players in ways that make me wonder whether they've been doing the broadcasts with their eyes closed.

RE: WEMU
Another issue, which illustrates the need for a real radio network. I was on my way to Ontario on Oct. 1. I was listening to the Akron game on WEMU but lost the game before we reached Port Huron and began to have reception problems in Madison Heights. As the product on the field (an hopefully, the court) improves it is imperative to have radio that reaches the entire metro Detroit area. The current network of one, under powered station is ridiculous.

RE: WEMU
I think the EMU admin is starting to see this as a problem and. Something that needs to be addressed. My son HS had a more powerful station and a pre and post game talk show. Please don't tell me it will take sponsor because we give enough money to WEMU to cover this. We can use students who are media major to help run it...

Why would RE answer fan questions? He can barely get through a presser without losing his composure. The man does not like to be questioned, period.

Yeah, I think it's a good idea. I just wouldn't hold your breath.

I got this e-mail from Ira today about questions for the eagle insider show.

I asked the folks at emueagles.com to put something together. Hopefully it's up for next week.

Hell, I hope so also, we are already at the half way point. Too much later and the season will be over.

RE: WEMU
Okay, We are past the football halfway point and we still are not granted a pre or post game show for the fans and WTKA is nit allowing for Q/A of the coach. The EMU admin can not be disappointed by the our fanbase since they don't support their fanbase..

Color me dumb for keeping this point near the front.. I would love to get my mind right by listening to football talk before going into a game to cheer the team on.. Duh, this is what every D-1 college team does for their fans. What a difference it would make for Homecoming this week to get the fan charged up and show to the alum the growth and improvement we made to the program and I am not talking about a 10 min fan talk..

Okay I'm off my soapbox again..

I've never heard a college station or network whose announcers feel free to rip individual players on the air the way these two do. It's awful in principle, and I can't believe it does much good for recruiting if any prospects happen to tune in.

As long it is truthful, fair, and balanced I am okay.. ( I am sounding like Fox News). No one wants homer all the time.. I want a pair that talk about the team and keep me interested in staying turned in.. Not someone who is just doing a job to get a paycheck.

What about harsh and unfair criticism keeps you interested?

No. It goes along with my comments before in this thread about the EMU school admin team. Not putting together a good team for the games. What would happen if we had a good team and they knew what they were doing...
