RE: Do you believe the AFA/ECU/Navy rumor?
I'd be willing to bet Navy is a lock. Not so sure on Air Force. It's the type of thing the Big East would do. I also suspect that if Navy says yes, then Army will get an invite as well.

Do Navy and Army control any markets, no. They do get you on TV probably in Baltimore for sure. I'm not sure how much market pull Army has in New York, but coupled with Rutgers it might protect that market. As painful as it is to say, the Service Academies bring you the name value of Pitt and Cuse in football, and it fits the geographical footprint. Also, the BCS would be crazy to eliminate an AQ status with teams that represent the US govt. It would be a terrible PR move.

ECU SHOULD get an invite, simply to plant a flag in ACC territory, but I'm sure the BEast and Marinara still believe there is a gentleman's agreement with the ACC.

AFA/ Navy we basically a done deal before Pitt/Syracuse left. I haven't ever heard a specific "yes" on ECU, although makes sense.

i dont believe it since some bigeast schools are still looking around an i doubt they would invite anybody until they knew what schools are still there. if say wvu, louisville, tcu, uconn and rutgers all leave for acc or b12 then there would be no way bigeast football would survive with only cincy and usf left so at that point the bigeast decides to drop football while trying to find homes for cincy and usf

I bolded the key word for you there.

Also, take a look at Native Georgian's post above.

I don't think BEast football will exist past November ... with or without additions.

I voted "yes" because I think this whole thing is ridiculously funny...

I guess you failed to notice as many Pirate fans voted no. I'm sure that wasn't intentional.

Yep I voted no as well, mostly because I don't think a single person right now actually knows what the BE will do. I don't think the scenario is impossible, because those are the 3 most likely to take FB only, but I don't believe it for a second.

RE: Do you believe the AFA/ECU/Navy rumor?
No I don't believe it.

I will be very surprised if Navy abandons it's long tradition of independance. I will be further surprised if AFA is willing to play half their games on the East Coast. Nether program is driven by money considerations. AFA plays in a confernce since it was easier for scheduling games out west.

I always liked the idea of adding ECU, but for some reason the BE has never seriously considered them in the past. What ever those reasons are, nothing has changed. ECU has always been willing to accept a FB only invite, this is nothing new.

Don't know what the voting looked like two days ago, but 7 of 22 people (ECU fans) said yes. 15 of 22 that said yes are for or from other schools. So alot of others think ECU is going to the Big East. I voted know because sometime here real soon, the Big Feast will be nothing but the 7 or 8 non FBS playing basketball schools.

RE: Do you believe the AFA/ECU/Navy rumor?
The way the BE is imploding Temple won't even leave the MAC to join the BE let alone trying to get Air Force and Navy to join. With at least L'ville now leaving for the B-12 this conference is done for football. It looks like
some combination of L'Ville, Cinn, WV and BYU to the B-12 this week if Missouri leaves with A&M. If Missouri stays in the B-12 then WV maybe heading to the SEC.

With in the next 3-10 days the only football schools left in the BE are going to be Rutgers, UConn, and USF. With this line up left TCU will stay in the MWC and push for BCS AQ status and the spot that the BE is going to loose in 27 months when the other five schools leave. With football dead in the BE UConn, Rutgers, and USF will have to join the MWC for FB only to be in a BCS conference in 27 months. Their new line up will be the ten schools that will pull together next year from the WAC + TCU + Rutgers, UConn, and USF for FB only for a 14 team BCS conference when BE FB is finally destroyed. The BE will be left with only BB and Olympic sports with the seven current BB schools, ND with independent FB, and the three remaining FB schools for BB and Olympic sports only and their FB in the new AQ BCS MWC.

The only thing that will save BE FB at this point is if WV cannot find another BCS league to go to and TCU sticks to their commitment with the BE. Unfortunately all of the FB schools are scouring like rats to leave the BE version of the sinking Titanic and I don't blame them one bit with the incompetent leader in Providence that they BE schools voted into office.

RE: Do you believe the AFA/ECU/Navy rumor?
Guess-o-meter

Louisville is headed for B12
TCU may never make it to the BEast
West VA is headed for the SEC or whoever will take them
UConn is begging the ACC
Rutgers is part of the UConn package for the ACC
Cinci and USF are searching

If AFA, ECU, and Navy show up in Providence they might find the walls bare and the offices empty.
