Do Army and Navy still remain independent?
With everything going on are they going to sit pat or get into the fray. It would look like an opportunity for them IMO.

They don't ever have any need to join a league. Their mission has very little to do with sports, and money is no issue for them.

People always bring up the service academies as candidates for conferences. As a Navy vet, I can tell you that the services are not even remotely interested in college football conferences. Their focus is on building strong charactered young men and women, to defend this country. The service academies are not focused on getting into the BCS. That's not their mission.
