UConn, Rutgers #15,16?
The presidents of the Atlantic Coast Conference voted Saturday morning to accept Syracuse and Pittsburgh to the league, according to an official in the ACC. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the league has not announced the move.
The ACC has scheduled a news media teleconference Sunday at 9:30 a.m., ET ostensibly to discuss the expansion, but no details were given.
The ACC also has not closed off its options about adding two other East Coast teams, depending on how the expansion dominoes fall in other leagues. Connecticut and Rutgers would be the candidates, the official said.

Yikes.
They're trying to cut the B1G off at the pass, as it were. Take away ALL of their east coast expansion options. If they're serious about that, I'd say Texas and ND are off the table for them.

LOL. Guys if the BigTen came calling those ACC schools and current Big East members would bail from the ACC. The BigTen knows this, thats why they are in no rush to move. You really think that Rutgers going to ACC will keep them from heading to BigTen if they invited them?
BigTen knows Rutgers and Mizzou would leave ANY conference to join them

That confirms my thoughts. UConn and Rutgers will be the other shoe to drop.
If losing Pitt and Syracuse has left the Big East with a sucking chest wound, then losing UConn and Rutgers is a fatal gut shot.
Time to head for the exits.

True. But the ACC would get a cool $20 million in exit fees from any team leaving. Why'd you think they raised them?
Step 1: Invite schools that they B1G wants.
Step 2: Raise exit fees
Step 3: Wait for B1G to invite said schools.
Step 4: Profit.
I'm only being half-serious, but...

and you think 20 mill would stop those schools from leaving to BigTen? Remember the BigTen draw is not just athletics but academics.

Obvs not. But 20 million is a good chunk of change to spread around a conference.

If true, it ends the speculation about Texas going to the ACC. Whether that increases or decreases their chances of committing to the Big ??, and whether they would consider adding the remaining Big East football schools is as clear as mud right now...

RE: UConn, Rutgers #15,16?
From what im hearing UT and TT will join the`Pac12 with OU and OSU.
So the BIG question for the rest of us is where is there more money to be had>
#1 All sports with Mizzou, Kansas, Kansas state, Iowa State,Baylor, TCU, USF, Louisville, Cinncinati, Rutgers, UConn and one more
or
#2 12/ 20 hybrid of all those teams and the current nonfootball BE members.
If we were looking at a big TV increase going 12/20 with what we had. Does that change dramatically in this new 12/20 with one less BCS conference to compete for TV revenues

If the rumors that Rutgers and UConn are also all but gone, that makes this an even more important question.

ESPN doesn't care about flyover country. They want the coasts.
I expect CBS to rescue whatever is left in the heartland regardless of how it is configured. They need the programming.

The Big East only has itself to blame, imagine if it had been proactive and had 4 more members, it would be in better shape after this move.

RE: UConn, Rutgers #15,16?
It appears the ACC has offered/will offer membership to Texas and ND for all sports EXCEPT football. If Texas and ND decline, the ACC will probably invite UConn and Rutgers for spots #15 and #16.
I don't know about Texas, but I think ND takes that offer. Then it might be down to UConn *OR* Rutgers for the last spot. I heard Coach K was pushing for 16 schools and he wanted UConn.
