FWIW, Rutgers Rivals is reporting...
FWIW, Rutgers Rivals is reporting that Rutgers is talking to the Big Ten. The superconference era is really happening and I don't like it one bit.

of course they would. It would be stupid of them not to. The problem is that I dont see the Big Ten needing to make that move right now. They know full well Rutgers will still be around.

They can talk, but the B1G may have a couple of others on speed dial.

You can probably add UCONN to that list. All suddenly UCONN and RU to the B1G is not that far-fetched. This blows to be honest.

I wouldn't be shocked at all. The magic number this round seems to be #14. The ACC seems to be a solid wall (like it or not) of unity. I don't think the B1G could pry any of those schools away.

Rutgers and UConn give them access into the Northeast. The only other logical choice would be Mizzou, but Nebraska convinced the B1G that Illinois gave them the St. Louis market. It's probably for the best that Rutgers and UConn end up in the new B1G and Mizzou stays in the Big 12 to reload with the BEast leftovers.

No they aren't. They didn't report anything close to that. It's all speculation.

Rutgers going to the Big Ten with ND, UConn and Maryland is the best scenario for everyone involved.

if Missouri is in B-10 long range plans,
B-10 might make move to keep Missouri from SEC
& take Rutgers for !$

Mizzou's wet dream is the BigTen, even if they went to SEC now they would move to BigTen if that invite ever came. This is one reason why i dont see them getting an invite from SEC.

The BigTen doesnt have to make any moves right now to get Mizzou, Rutgers or UConn they will be there whenever they want them

5 superconferences:

SEC adds Texas A&M and WV

Big Ten adds Rutgers and UConn.

Pac12 remains at 12 (unless they want Boise and BYU).

ACC adds Pitt and Syracuse ... and they make a deal with Texas and Notre Dame to allow both to remain independent for football but ACC members for all other sports.

The New Big12: Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Kansas, Kansas St, Iowa State, Louisville, Cincinnati, USF.

Just a thought... all 68 current BCS teams are accounted for.

If the Big 10 takes Rutgers and Missouri, there might be some hope for Big East Football. The Big 12 would be down to four (Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State), and ACC expansion to 16 might be on hold

Where are the good matchups in the Big 10 with Rutgers...I just don't see it. You would be better off in the ACC North. Not a midwest conference.

Did you forget about Penn State?

Not saying that Rutgers is getting invited to the B1G, but a hypothetical league with Penn State and Notre Dame (which is really the main sceanrionwhere the B1G would move up to 14) does as much to draw eyeballs in the Northeast as any combo.
