I know where you are messing up at, you are looking at the 1989-90 season instead of what I am talking about the 1988-89 season. It was the 1988 season with the bowl taking place in 1989.

I knew it off the top of my head because I remember rooting for Major Harris and the Mountaineers in that game.

Ok got you. Again good bowl great games a few year before but still not on the same level it is today and not the same path to it.

Thanks, and with Terry Holland at the helm maybe you and Memphis can rejoin us in the same league.

The old administration was wrong in trying to keep you out of the C-USA but with TH at the helm and when you get your football program rolling again I am hopeful you and Memphis will get out of the Texas based league you are in now. I am sure you will have strong allies in UC, UofL, USF, WVU, SU and Pittsburgh if expansion does come about.

My only real problem with Memphis is RC Johnson.

I like TH running the ship, that said nothing can be as bad as having an interim Chancellor, interim AD, and a coach that appeared (and was) DOA on arrival in 2003. As they say timing is everything. I just hope we have a little better timing in the future.

Jonesing, that "Owned" photo is pretty ironic since UofL has owned you for a while now! Four straight wins for the Cards, and by an average of 3 or 4 TD's a game! 04-cheers

Sure, but you have to admit that is a cool picture and on that play your boy got totally owned :D . (I got tired of Maize's pic of your player running by ours)

Hey don't feel to bad Garrard embarrassed quite a few. It could be worse, at South Carolina he carried a few players for a while.

It only took 7 players to bring him down  He was a player that always provided poster material. Not often you see a 250lb QB hurdling players, but I perfered to see him run them over myself. Now if we can just get some players like that in the future.

I remember the ECU-UofL game in 2001 in Greenville. Classic game. The Cards did win, but barely. East Carolina came back on us when we had a comfortable lead. I have always respected the ECU program. I really hope you guys can get it turned around there. The Pirate fans deserve it. Kudos to the great support you guys give your team win or lose 04-cheers

You know its funny when I listen to Louisville fans talk so much sh!t about how great they are and listen they have every right to brag after last season but when you go out and say you're better than So.Miss that does sound pretty funny. After all So.Miss does own that all-time series record against Louisville. Again I know you guys are going to point out the last 3 games of the series you won. That holds no water though you guys won 3 straight against So.Miss from 90-92 and then So. Miss won the next 5 from Louisville. As for the Cincy fans who love to bring up the 52-24 win thats okay too. You guys kicked our A$$ last year but the fact of the matter is we have kicked your A$$ as many times as you have ours seeing that we are tied 7 all in our all-time series. As a matter of fact I think it would be awesome to see you guys on the schedule again just wear one of us can claim some kinda of pride.

You know my grandma used to say, when someone gives you a compliment....the only reply necessary is Thank You. The original post was a compliment to our program. Everything else is garbage and the angry ramblings of fans of mid major programs who aspire to do what UofL has done. Please seek the help of a competent therapist and work on your anger issues with them. Believe me...we've had our day as programs like Florida St., Virginia Tech, and South Carolina left conferences we have been in for the big times and left us the eternal bride's maid. Now it's our day to shine....pease move, you're blocking the light.

I admit before 2000, Southern Miss had a better football program than Louisville. However, since then Louisville has owned Southern Miss and has left them behind. Enjoy CDOA and playing the 8th place Big 12 team in Houston. You Southern Miss fans started this argument. So enjoy being a Midmajor, bubbas! 03-puke 03-puke 03-puke
