Hatters on Track
I have been absent the last few months but now that bball is back in full swing I am really impressed with what Casey Alexander has been able to do so far. I had wrote on my blog a while back that this job of rebuilding the program from the ground up will be a challenge. I think that early returns are showing that the administration has for the first time in a while made the right move. It seems to have started with the womens program and it appears the men are going in the right direction. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that so many kids left the program. This has the makings of a "team" which for years was lacking under the Derek Waugh regime. Even though they lost a game they should have won - Charlston Southern, they played tough in Tally and the UF game was really not as bad as the score indicated. The kids competed. Then came last night. The win over ETSU and the way in which it happened was impressive. After the UF game kids told reporters that this game coming up was the important one. I think coach gets it and it is wearing off on the team. Now yes it is one game and ETSU has the WTF games every year but on paper Stetson may be a little better then people thought. To make the conference tourney should be the goal this year but the roster is not filled with seniors so add in a few pieces and you never know the next year or two. I figured that I would have to wait until baseball season this year where Stetson is loaded and could finally have the team to win a regional but maybe bball will be worth watching..

ETSU's WTF games tend to be Stetson. Every year.

Yea that is why I noted that but, I think it may have more to do with Stetson this year. It was one game but having seen them play a few times it is very apparent that the team is going in the right direction. To make a move in this conference doesn't take much. It is not like we are in the Big East. I could be totally wrong but I was hoping for 5 wins coming into the season but to be 4-3 so far is well above expectations.

We shall see come Sunday when they take on Indiana who looks to be back up again..
