Telling stat: No FGs.

In the case of NIU, it was because they were finishing their drives in the endzone. I like that. You don't win games with field goals. In the case of Army, they got so far behind that FGs were useless and their kicker did not seem to be very good anyway.

After NIU started the game ahead 7-0 before the offense even hit the field, I remember saying, "And our defense is supposed to be our weekness".

My one complaint is the 4th quarter score. 20-0 Army. I know it was the 2nd and 3rd string Huskies, but come on! We may need to rotate these guys in against Wisconsin, and you know the Badgers will more effectively wear down the Defense.

The Huskies are like a nightclub sound system. They have lots of power, but they could use a little fine tuning.

In the post game interview on the radio, coach said the second team D did not get that many reps preparing for the option. Obvivously the second team D is not as good as the first team, but I wouldn't be too concerned about their 4Q performance vs a type of offense we'll only see one more time this year (Cal Poly).

Regarding the kicking game, I think what's important is that our kicker drilled all of our PAT's, no question about it. I am not too worried about his ability to kick FG's. Kickoff's were a little bit of a concern. I understand some of those shorter kicks were designed, but I think our kicker was not perfect with his execution of those kicks. Nothing a little more practice will not help!

Garbage time, definitely not a worry, especially also considering what FT mentioned.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the second string defense. Defending the option with limited reps isn't easy. It's not like you can go out there and play base defense against it.
