JMO, but if WVU is still in the BE by the time of the LSU game, then its not leaving
Jackson, the LSU game could also be WVU's measuring stick for the SEC. But I feel there will probably be a decision one way or the other in the next few days. I'm just wondering if this will turn out the way it did previously, when the SEC was down to WVU or South Carolina, and they chose the Gamecocks. WVU could get the ring this time around, or we could be left out once again. Nobody knows at present...
I'd like to thank everyone for the kind regards for WVU from everyone. It would be strange at first in the SEC, without all the traditional rivals. But like I've said before, it would be nice to see WVU every other year without having to travel more than 10 miles...
If the Mountaineers do get an SEC invite, I hope the Brawl continues to be an annual affair, and on it's traditional date. That's one of the oldest and best rivalries in the country. It would also be nice to keep playing the Orange for the Swartzwalder Trophy. That's the 2nd longest active rivalry in the east. Both would be nice OOC games, and those games being an SEC OOC game would only elevate the profile of those games for TV...
But at present, nothing is certain. It all depends on how the dominos fall, and the chain reaction could still miss us altogether. Then again, we could all end up scattering to the 4 winds. I guess we'll find out before conference play begins...
Good luck to everyone. No matter what happens, I hope everyone lands on their feet...
