Sorry made the edit about the bottom rankings.
You could be right on the Cuse and Uconn.
Uconn gets the Cuse at Home though.

RE: My Big East Prediction
This prediction is useless with all the coaching changes and none of the squads having a game on the field.
1) WVU
2) Pitt
3-5) UConn
3-5) Cincy
3-5) USF
6) Ville
7-8) RU
7-8) Cuse
A couple points:
I have UConn ranked high because I think they have a favorable schedule, both in conference and overall. I think all of their OOC games are winnable and gets them a chance to work out the kinks before they open a big East schedule. In conference play, I think playing USF and Louisville at home are key for them since they are edge games that can go either way. They have to travel to WVU and Pitt, but I don't think they would win in these games in most situations anyway. Anyway, with all the changes there, they could come out very flat, or they can win 9 games.
Rutgers is another unknown. If all the coaching changes, switch in offensive style, shoring up the O-Line, and a steady starting QB in Dodd all work out, they have a big upside. The chances of all of those things working out is slim, though. I think they are still a year away. They have WVU and Pitt at home, but I don't think it matters. Their close games are UConn, Ville, and Cuse, and they are all away, so I think it'll be a long in conference season for Rutgers. I think that looking at the season schedule, a better RU team could have made a lot of noise. Instead, it'll be a missed opportunity as the team spends the year rebuilding. Fans should be happy if they pull off a 6-6 season and win more than 2 games in conference.
I just don't see more than two wins on the Syracuse conference schedule.

RE: My Big East Prediction
Gonna have to do it in tiers...once again the race is going to be extremely tight:
Tier 1
1. South Florida
2. Pittsburgh
3. West Virginia
Tier 2 in alphabetical order
4. Cincinnati
4. Louisville
4. Syracuse
4. UConn
Tier 3
8. Rutgers
But the best team in the BIG EAST is not playing a BIG EAST schedule and that is TCU.

WVU owns Rutgers - period. It doesn't matter who's coaching. Rutgers has never won in Morgantown, and have lost 17 in a row to WVU...

RE: My Big East Prediction
The coaching acumen in the Big East has jumped up significantly in the past two or 3 seasons.
Wanny, Bill Stewart, Leavitt, Robinson & Kragthorpe.....these guys weren't generally outsmarting anyone.
Now sure Edsell seemed to get everything out of "solid" recruits at UConn and it remains to be seen what Butch at Cincy will be after the departure of Kelly......but it seems to me that Schiano and his chopping wood routine may be outdated for what he will now consistently see from the new coaches.

RE: My Big East Prediction
I just hope the Big East can consistently keep some teams in the top 25 this year.
I think WVU is going to do fine in that regard but it would be nice to have 2 or 3 teams carry the torch to get the bad taste of last season out of our mouths.

WVU, Pitt and USF will finish the year ranked in the top 25 this season and so will TCU.
