League schedules
Kudos to all teams in the league. I just noticed that all 8 league members have at least two OOC games versus BCS teams*. The effects are two fold. One, gives us a chance to make some noise out of conference. But two, and most importantly, that puts the BE on par with other leagues RE: computer rankings, whereas most other conferences play 8 conference games and one OOC game vs. a BCS school. This means that if we have an great team, they might get a chance to play for the title.

*Rutgers technically only has one game against a BCS team, but I count teams like BYU, Utah (pre-pac 12), Navy, and Boise St as BCS caliber.

By this logic, then, UofL has 3 BCS teams scheduled OOC. After all, we're opening our season against Murray State.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. In 2009, we played Oregon State, Illinois, and a very above-average non-AQ team in Fresno State, and all 12-0 got us was a coaching change.

What I am referring to is that with every team having fairly decent schedules, their computer numbers will stay up. In the case of 2009, you are only looking at who Cincy played, and not who everyone else played. With other teams' schedules being better, even if they lose some games, their computer numbers will be inflated, very similar to how the RPI works in basketball.

18 OOC vs BCS
disclaimer on Rutgers drops to 17
actually BE plays 16 BCS this yr
counting BYU, Boise & Navy puts you at 19

SYR has WAKE and USC. IF we win both of those, we're good.

LOL, it is your math that is impossible to understand. Where do you get 18 vs. BCS or 19 including the "disclaimered few?" The number is actually 16 vs. true BCS (7 home 9 away), plus 1 game vs. Navy.
