Depth Chart Predictions - Safety
This year, there is a slight change from what we've been doing the last several years, a safety position has been eliminated for the aformentioned hybrid linebacker and an additional interior lineman substitituted for a LBer. So we've gone from a natural prevent 3-3-5 to a 4-3-4. What used to be 3 safeties and two corners is now 2 safeties and 2 corners.

Our two main safeties from last year return and they are both young and talented. Dexter McCoil and Marco Nelson have the smarts and the savvy to be the best combo safties in CUSA. DM has added over 20 lbs and is now 6-4 222. Because of it he has moved closer to the LOS and will runsupport and then drop when needed. Marco is ticketed to be the base deep guy. After those two are some talented and tough kids that will be special team demons IMO. This is a very strong position for us.

Free Safety - Marco Nelson 6-0 195
James Roberson 6-2 190

Strong Safety - Dexter McCoil 6-4 222
Trent Wilkins 5-11 200
Luke Snider 5-10 180
