OT: Miami: Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely
In this article today out of the Sun-Sentinel, Dave Hyde makes some good comments on how leaders such as both of the former UM AD's and even Miami's President, Donna Shalala continued to get away with abusing the system because as he said: "People like Shalala and Dee are the system. They have cross-contaminated school standing with NCAA hypocrisy. They are one and the same. Shalala maintains a watchdog role in the NCAA."

PS. Now I do disagree with Hyde that the players should also be at fault vs trying to make the UM leaders the only scapegoat in this case.

UM's problems is the adults, not the players

After years of bad culture, Shannon holds key to Miami's future

This story ends with Randy Shannon holding the key to the future of University of Miami athletics. Imagine that turn. A fired coach deciding the fate of those who fired him.

But when this story begins, Drew Rosenhaus isn't a super-agent. He's a kid starting a good business. And Paul Dee isn't yet Miami's athletic director. He's the school's general counsel trying to keep business moving forward.
