Interesting comments from Univ President that was "slammed" by Paul
Dee of course was the long-time UM Athletic Director...but also one in his final years was the NCAA Chairman on the Infraction Committee.

Here's a few choice comments from now Long Beach State Univ President, King Alexander, who's had dealings with Paul Dee and others that were on the NCAA Infraction Committee:

"Dee told us, `You have to put in place the kind of institutional control we have at Miami,"' Alexander related with irritation. "And one of the other members of the NCAA Infractions Committee in that hearing was from Nebraska. On that same day, six Nebraska athletes were arrested for illegally selling sporting apparel."

Alexander also pointed out another development not exactly flattering to Dee.

"You must understand that in 2005 when I was president at Murray State, I fired our football coach, Joe Pannunzio, because of numerous incidents that occurred in our program under him that were quite bad," he said. "Well, Pannunzio immediately was hired by Miami, and he's one of the coaches who's been prominently mentioned by Shapiro in the current scandal. He's now the head of football operations at Alabama."

PS. His LBSU Women's team might now be in the cross-hairs of a future NCAA investigation because he is brave enough to go on the record about the NCAA hypocrisy that goes on at major programs.

I read a paragraph near the end of that story that said, "Jerry Tarkanian had quite a post-birthday surprise party last Saturday night at the Tarkanian Basketball Academy facility in Las Vegas." I thought it said "blood-thirsty surprise" - I must've looked at it sideways. It frightened me.
