The team Duke beat is actually the Chinese Junior National Team or a team full of teenagers similar to Duke.

If the Chinese hope to improve basketball, they have to send their coaches and kids to the USA at young age to develop. The system they got over there won't work until they get a massive overhaul.

the chinease are trying to cripple us economically, we need to do what germany does no outsourcing, they make everything in germany. i play cards with a german engineer, he said we should do the same here.

RE: Georgetown Brawl
I don't think we'll be sending any more teams to China. It's discraceful to be the host and treat your guests like that.

Gtown has played in the rough and tumble BE for years and never had an altercation like this. I doubt they go half way around the world and show their worse behavior. Yea, I blame the Chinese for this incident and that does look like a coach kicking one of the Gtown players.

I'd say China is certainly doing a GREAT JOB at that.

This Chinese team has a reputation for brutal, foul-prone play, and they've been reprimanded for such by some basketball governing bodies recently.

That caveat said, as a Georgetown fan for 1/3 of a century, i'm deeply embarrassed by how the Hoya players acted in that situation. No matter what the provocation, there simply is no excuse for brawling, and the Hoyas clearly did brawl. You can always walk, or run, away, and that's what our guys should have done.

I don't disagree with you at all. I do question whether a single team out of the 350+ in D1 would have acted any differently. It doesn't make it right, but there appeared to be people coming onto the court in all directions. With it not being a small situation contained at center court, that's difficult to get out of. There's even a Chinese guy swinging a chair well off the court. They don't want to walk away leaving teammates behind, and while jokes will be made by rivals this year, I don't think many actually think poorly of Georgetown for what happened.

They kissed and made up. GTOWN will play another team this Sunday in Shanghai.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/geo...story.html

Sports are played by men full of testosterone. However, fighting like this has no business in any sports. I thought JT III handled the situation pretty well. Knowing the Chinese culture, this is a huge loss of face especially since VP Biden is visiting. I am pretty sure Chinese authority will punish those guys that were engaged in fighting.

Quote:Chinese basketball fans slammed Bayi, which is owned by China’s military, for its part in the brawl that forced the cancellation of a match intended to promote U.S.-China goodwill during Biden’s visit.

Video footage, showing players punching each other and throwing chairs, spread swiftly on the Internet and worldwide TV news.

It was the latest instance of on-court fighting by China, whose players have been fined tens of thousands of dollars by the world and Asian federations for scrapping with opponents.

The BE might need to re-evaluate their membership after taking an @ss whooping like that. Those kicks are fast as lightening.

The Chinese should just be glad that Dejaun Blair wasn't playing. He'd judo flip the entire Chinese contingent...

G-Town should not be embarrassed. This was clearly a calculated attack. I only hope the next chinese team that comes over here is lynched!

Seriously, I would not send my team to China without a huge roster and a couple of absolute enforcers. Those guys love to get in fights on their home soil with huge rosters. IE Puerto Rico and Brazil.

The chicoms went straight to first degree assault. The Georgetown kids just wanted to get the he'll out of there.

If I was Georgetown's President, I'd have brought the team home and released a public statement to the effect of, Since the Chinese Government is unable to secure the safety of our student athletes against members of their own government, we have decided to bring our student athletes home for their own safety.

Georgetown played again in Shanghai on Saturday without incident. It was the hottest ticket in town LOL. Georgetown and Bayi Rockets kissed and made up. I hope the Hoyas enjoy rest of the China trip. I imagine this is quite an embarrassment for the Chinese to have this fight all over the Internet.

The Shanghai trip from a Hoya player's perspective:

It was as big an embarrasment as their new satellite not reaching GEO, and becoming another piece of space junk slowly losing ground to gravity...

They better fire one of those rockets they designed that can knock down satellite then. They did that a few years ago and it worked.
