OT: I'm shocked! Former Ohio State QB admits to receiving CA$H and Car Payments from
his mentor back in PA...saying both he and his Mom received CASH from him, plus CAR PAYMENTS (i.e. for some of the fancy cars Pryor was always driving around Ohio State's campus).

Pryor's lawyer admits former OSU QB received cash/car payments

Amazing...as obviously the NCAA didn't seem to concern or didn't dig enough into this situation as they CLEARED Ohio State and Pryor on this same issue just 2 months ago:

You're the only one that's shocked, KL. I knew more would come out. I'll bet the NCAA has to go back to Columbus, and actually perform the investigation they were supposed to do the first time. I don't know if the Buckeyes will escape the LOIC stigma this time around. They had to know about this. This guy and Tressel communicated regularly about Pryor, according to the email logs...

I have a feeling that is what the letter OSU received last week was referring to (as in, NCAA delivered another letter of allegations against the school).

He spilled the beans on everything he did wrong so that he could get into the supplemental draft this year. He had to be considered ineligible to play this year for the NFL to even consider allowing his appeal to enter the supplemental draft....So he had millions of reasons to tell the truth.

And the supplemental draft has been pushed back, and may even be cancelled this year. That's poetic justice at its finest IMO...

That was my ESPN's Bob Ryan impersonation there....

"I'm shocked, shocked, shocked!" when we all know he is not.

Seeing as how I hardly ever listen to any of the personalities at ESPN any longer, I missed the reference, dude...

Not really speaking directly for KL, but I'm almost 100% sure "I'm shocked" was sarcasm.

I got that...just pointing that he had a lot to gain from throwing people under the bus and coming clean.

Couldn't happen to a nicer program. Shows what a weasel that Jim Tressel is. His star player driving around in new cars all season, and he never asks the obvious question. Meanwhile, he's talking on the phone regularly with the facilitator of the cash payments. If this isn't lack of institutional control, what is? And to think that months ago, OSU's AD and yes, even its President, said basically that this was much ado about nothing and that Jim Tressel should be right up there on Mt. Rushmore.

Good pt...but Ohio State brings a lot of $$$$$ to the NCAA and their Conf...so I doubt they will be hit too hard....but yes, I agree they should, especially for their weasel bow-tie freak of a President.

He'd need a fleet of buses, according to one news story I saw. I thought that an appropriate comment...
