As I pointed out in that latter thread, the Big East is 24-2 against Conference USA since realignment, including 14-1 against the only schools that have ever won their eastern division. Yet I still expect Conference USA fans to consider themselves effectively even with the Big East. Can we please stop the madness, or are people destined to believe this along with the "facts" that Mikey from the Life cereal commercials died from eating pop rocks and Coke, Jamie Lee Curtis is a hermaphrodite and Richard Gere had to have a gerbil removed from his colon.

How do you explain then TCU beating Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl Game last year? Rose Bowl certainly wasn't TCU's home field.

Rose Bowl (when Big Ten and Pac-10 teams are not in the National title game) winner goes in cycles.

From 1993-2000, Big Ten won 7 out of 8 Rose Bowl Games vs Pac-10 teams.

In back to back years of 2005-2006, Texas (Big 12) beat Michigan (Big Ten) in the Rose Bowl GAme and then USC (Pac-10) in the National Championship Game played in the Rose Bowl.

What is embarrassing is couple of so-called WVU fans over on the conference alignment board constantly promoting WVU to the SEC or the ACC while bashing the BE at the same time. It would be funny if during a realignment happened and WVU is left behind. I wonder what those jokers have to say then.

Any person who thinks CUSA is close being on par with the BE needs to have his/her eyes examined.

When did Wisconsin join the Pac Tin? Last time I looked, they were even farther away from Pasadena than TCU...

A number of responses come to mind, but I will be polite. My point is the reason a CUSA school would desire to be a part of a BCS league would be to obtain the paycheck involved. I did not say the quality of play is similar.

The extra money received from the BCS payout would help make the playing field more level for any CUSA team that became a part of a BCS league.

Starting next year, the money from bcs payouts is going to pale in comparison to the BE tv payouts. The bcs payout is around $18 million which is split up between all the fb members of a conference. According to published reports and media sources, the BE just turned down a deal that pays its fb members from between $14.5 million to $16.93 million each. Its not the bcs money that will level the playing field anymore, its TV MONEY, first and foremost, then the bcs money followed closely by NCAA Tourney money and bowl payouts. So its alot more than bcs that any Cusa team would benefit from being apart of the BE, and not just the bcs.

My other point is that the Big East football is not as deep as other BCS leagues. This is a given since there are not that many football teams in the league.

Just a note. Memphis Tiger football is improving. It has been good in the past and it will be good in the future.

Memphis fb has been bad more often than it has been good.

RE: How do we put a stop to the BS?
Don't bother with reason cuseroc, u know what fox's annual tv payout is per year for that conference? 7 million... Let that sink in 7 million not for one team but the entire freaking conference, which is twice as much as their previous contract with espn, so I guess in a way they made out like gangbusters.

Add in the CBS deal and they make 14 mill annually split between 12 teams, I actually respect and root for all the cusa teams esp the former conference members like s miss, ecu, houston, Memphis, Uab, etc) but it is what it is, there's no way you can compare the two conferences right now.

But pound for pound, the BE is deep. We have zero true bottom feeders. There are no easy games in this conference. There are easy games in the ACC< Big 10, etc.

I'm one of the few UCF fans who think we shouldn't even be thinking of putting our foot in the door to Big East membership.

And I will never beg to leave C-USA unless the conference is in shambles. Which it isn't.

But to put it in perspective as a C-USA fan, the Big East will, 9 times out of 10, beat our conference in football...except this year. 05-stirthepot

I would certainly be in favor of UH or ECU. Not sure about SMU though.

Seton hall has a very good baseball team...have to give them props for that.
