I think you guys will give Louisville a run for the money. Great, great defense. Your offense is not bad either. This game also told me that SU's defense will be pretty good this year. Not quite as good as the Eers, but good nonetheless. SU really needs a qb. the offense is terriblt. the line is not bad, but needs some work as well. Great game. Now go out and paste the Hokies and the turtles.

I really think WVU will beat both Maryland and VT. They played a good game

I think SUs defense did a good job and remember, your offense is a new system. I am sooo glad WVU found a pass rush.

If you guys can beat Maryland and Virginia Tech you'll definitely be in the Top 25! Syracuse gave West Virginia a battle and I'm impressed with Syracuse's D. West Virginia fumbled a lot but Syracuse caused many of them. As soon as Robinson's offensive system is in place Syracuse is going to be a factor in the Big East and nationally!

--- I thought it was a good, old fashioned eastern football game....West Virginia should have won by a wider margin but it was certainly a hard hitting matchup

-- SUs offense reminds me a lot of WVUs offense in Rich's first yr before we had the personal in place to run it....that yr we basically had a drop back passer trying to run the spread....SU is in the same boat with Patterson and the west coast scheme....I just don't think he has the ability to be a 3 step drop, hit the WR in stride kind of QB....if truth be told Patterson would be alot more effective in WVs system

-- I was really impressed with Adam Bednarik...he is the pefect fit for the offense I think...I guy who can run, but also a pretty good passer

-- That's 4 in a row over the Orange...and have won back to back trips to the Carrier Dome for the first time I can remember...just a great effort by the team out there

I was pleasantly surprised by WVU's performance.

Defensively, they were just fantastic. They play like that all year, we will win alot of games. SU also has an excellent defense. Our achilles heel was the turnovers, but I think it doubtful we have another game with 4 lost fumbles. I think Adam Bednarik is the real deal, and next week against Wofford at home should allow our offense to work out the kinks a bit.

Good, hard-fought game 04-cheers

It looked to be a good atmosphere at the dome today...very loud...big time college football atmosphere....Sounded like WVU brought a lot of fans up as well

Agree with these observations, Jackson. I was actually impressed with the 'eers offense. Seemed like they could move the ball pretty well and were their own worst enemy before SU's defense started gaining some momentum in the 2nd q. The RB Colson may be a new starter, but I remember seeing quite a bit of him last year, so he's hardly green. Someone needs to tell Bednarik he's not a RB, because, if he keeps throwing his body into the fray like he does, he'll be pounded before the season's over.

I'm especially impressed with your new kicker. ST's was a big sore spot last year from what I remember.

Agree with Jackson that WVU offense should have had at least 10 more points, but then Perry never should have thrown that INT either 03-wink

WVU has some tremendous athletes and RichRod definitely has SU's number - no matter who the coach is.

Good defensive games, but far too many silly penalties and offensive mistakes on both sides to make it a great defensive game.

Can't bring myself to go to the SU Insiders Board yet, since I'm sure they are in complete meltdown mode.

WE'RE DOOMED!!! DOOMED!!!

Anyway, it's hard to tell much from this game. WVU's real test will be two weeks at Maryland and SU's real test will be that same day against Virginia.

Based on yesterday's game, I'd have to say neither team will be favored to win.

I don't know, Maryland didn't look like world beaters getting dominated by Navy and having to rally to win. And Virginia had their hands full with Western Michigan.
