Holgorsen likes to have 5 QBs to toss all the passes required for WR workouts. Just having 2 is wearing out all the coaches who try to help give the WRs the reps they need...

Exactly...Riley had a problem with this last year. These guys throw the ball non stop in practice. Some of the drills are crazy looking with all those footballs in the air at once.

I think this is pretty cool. If I were a WVU student I'd sign up immediately. It's not like they are going to make the team, it's just for practice purposes. Would be kind of cool for a student to hang around the team for a couple of weeks.

Yeah it's only for practice/depth. None of them will see the field.

WVU has a real depth problem with only 2 QB's on the roster.

Their whole season depends on Geno Smith staying healthy in a pass happy spread offense.

If Geno goes down......

Didn't he have foot issues last season too?

Geno's foot surgery the first time around didn't adequately resolve the problem with his foot. So he played the entire year with a bum foot. They finally got it fixed the 2nd time. His foot's ok now. But it wasn't really 100% until the middle of spring practice...

Just an FYI, but there was three QBs in camp. A true freshman, who actually enrolled early in the spring transferred out. Sad when a kid can hack it at least into fall camp

Wait are you serious? I was actually only kidding. Didn't know it would be possible for a kid to finish high school in three years and enroll in college in what should have been his senior season.

Well yea that's natural but my point was that for this fall it seems like WVU has two QBs on the roster. I was merely joking that he should try to finish high school by the end of this month so he can start playing for WVU as soon as possible.

WVU has 3 QBs on the roster, and may have just swiped another one from Kentucky...

Gotcha. Then why the need for a university wide call out for student quarterbacks? It seems like 4 would seem to be good enough to sling the ball around in practice. Maybe I'm just not used to the types of practices Holgorsen wants to run. How many quarterbacks does he really need?

He didn't have the 3rd QB, or the Kentucky QB transfer until after he sent the email...

It's now official. Kentucky's redshirt freshman walk-on QB, Michael Burchett, has enrolled at WVU. He will be eligible immediately, since he was a walk-on, and not on scholarship. He has 4 years of eligibility remaining...
