Still a lot of football to be played this year, but overall I am pleased with week 1 (not ecstatic). If Cincy and UConn had lost I would be sick to my stomach. This is a very young conference with a couple of new coaches (Pitt and Cuse) and a lot of young teams. We will get better as the season goes on. Still some high profile OOC matchups left to be played. As a UL fan I know we will improve after yesterdays 2nd half debacle. Bowl week is when we will be judged on our year 1 performance so we have LOTS of time to improve. The ESPN announcers kept alluding to the fact that it is the first week and thus a preseason game that actually counts. Look at TCU/Oklahoma. You think that would happen in week 3 or 4? No way. Lets regroup and get ready for week 2 (except the Cards which have a bye in week 2 and man do they need it).

I agree...for the most part the league is very very young.....still don't think Pitt is has bad as they appeared the other night and Rutgers still has some talent if they can just overcome there history/repuation....I was very pleased with West Virginia yesterday...I think that is a bowl team for sure

-- there are still plenty of non conference games for us to impress...just be patient
