I know he's old and may not care about it one way or the other, but I really do hope that Hank Aaron and some of the other old-time Bravos will come check things out when this is all done. I think a lot of people are going to be stunned at how good this will be.

His statue will go across the street to the newly built baseball field. Unofficially I believe the ballpark will be named for him.

If they pull this off to match the rendering, then GSU will have an enviable stadium situation. A few winning seasons and who knows what can happen next...

Our hope is that you will eventually find out 05-stirthepot. Not that I'm not happy with the SBC's direction but the AAC is and has been our goal since we announced FBS aspirations. With this stadium, the new baseball field next door, and access to Phillips Arena for BB I think we will have a legitimate shot of gaining much better traction not only in our Atlanta market but with other conferences as well. I think hosting a couple of NCAA/NFL double header weekends would be outstanding for our cities. TB/ATL/NO/CHAR hosting (Bulls, Panthers, Green Wave, 49ers) on Saturdays & (Bucs, Falcons, Saints, Panthers) on Sundays could really ramp up some southern rivalries.

RE: All Things GSU
This literally fell in our lap. Someone handed us a professional sports stadium and 67 acres of downtown for almost nothing. So phase I is getting in there and playing football this fall. Phase II will be a lot of back of the house stuff. The administration admittedly has not come to a final decision about the right field bleachers and what will go there.

But Choo Choo is correct and it goes back to the Big East days and Lefty being our MBB coach. At least since then that has been the goal.

Any idea on what they intend t use the part of the old stadium that was formerly the right outfield?

It seems like a nice spot for some smaller concerts--maybe the marching band does a warm up show over there on game day mornings.

Unknown. They haven't decided. But the concert area will likely continue to be in the grand entry plaza outside of the outfield. [Image: f39b04b9de1156e1449a6f4d9ad9b934.jpg][Image: 002a3f82733021729586a0e5d8b49777.jpg][Image: 850e0ff7df7a0365d1ee79d8724e4f8a.jpg]
