Good post, Mike. How is your daughter? I am praying for her and your family. I am also praying for your safe return from "the Valley of Death". God bless you, Mike.

I'll like the football season better once it starts, and WVU starts living up to the hype. It won't be long... 04-rock

I like the fact that you have USF beating ND and WVU beating LSU but UC's too low. Sorry, Mike. I'm not liking that. 05-nono

My daughter is doing incredibly well and her spirit is super high. My unit has given me a letter of release from duty in Afghanistan so that I can be at home through the chemotherapy treatments. The doctors think that all the cancer was taken out in the emergency surgery. We are waiting for one test to come back to confirm this. God has been good. Thank you and many others for your prayers and concerns.

I like the pick of WVU over LSU.

The pick of USF over ND? Not so much..... :) I think that will be a really tough and close game. A tough opener for both schools.

Mike, best wishes to you and your daughter. The latest info sounds very encouraging. I am glad that you were able to be released from duty to be home for her treatments.

I am also glad that you will soon be safely home. My son deploys to Afghanistan next June. My nephew deploys there next March (his third combat tour, he was in 3rd Infantry Division for the 2003 Iraq invasion and he did a tour in Afghanistan in 2007).

I too am glad Mike is coming home.

Terry, let us know when they actual depart. We can put them on our prayer lists. My son is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan next spring, also, tour 5 (other four tours were in Irag).

Wow, five tours? Please give my thanks to your son for his service.

I hope that his next deployment is somewhere nice (and safe) here in the USA.

Terry, he is regular Army. His state station is Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. I will.

RE: BEast Football 2011
It'll be a pretty good year for the league, but it won't be a 2006.

USF: 11-1, 7-0; 4 BE road games, but catch a break with their latest one being indoors, the 2nd latest at bottom dweller Rutgers, and they have Pitt with new coach early, big advantage having WVU home.
WVU: 10-2, 6-1; I'd like to pick WVU over LSU, but too early for the new coach.
Pitt: 8-4, 5-2; Brutal opening schedule, but they'll begin to gell in October and finish strong.
Cincinnati: 8-4, 4-3; It'll be a strong comeback, but we're still not in position to contend.
UConn: 7-5, 3-4; Very winnable non-con, four home games, but most of their road games vs. my projected uppper half do them in, in terms of contention.
UL: 6-6, 2-5; UK winnable, maybe NC and its turmoil as well, but too much player turnover to contend.
SU: 5-7, 1-6; Too many player losses, only bottom-half (IMO) home game vs. RU.
RU: 3-9, 0-7; They might improve, but just about the rest of the league will too, with most "winnable" league games on the road.

That is funny. I had typed "Ft. Lewis, Washington or Fort Carson, Colorado" instead of "...here in the USA", but then deleted it because I wasn't sure he was in the Army.
