I read an article (link is below) saying that UCF athletics is in shambles based on the recruitment scandal with a guy out of Chicago a couple of months ago. Any remote chance that UCF may have had for a BCS conference invitation has been shattered due to this UCF scandal. Louisville in particular is fuming, because UCF stole at least one blue chip recruit and this UCF scandal has destroyed a teetering UCF athletic department. UCF may never recover, and will not get a BCS invitation in the foreseeable future, at least twenty more years in non-BCS purgatory. How can UCF recover from this scandal? How much longer will they be condemned to non-BCS status?

I would say this situation is far from a scandal at this point.

The article is from April, old news.

... and please don't 'bump up' this stuff. If anyone is interested, they'll see it and respond the first time around (i'm not bumping it with my post, since it's at the top right now as i type).

Three months ago it was exposed that fellow conference mate Louisville had their pocket picked illegally by UCF. Who knows how deep the scandal goes? How can UCF get an invitation to the Big East without looking into this further?

We had a new thread on Brandon Bender being investigated by the NCAA in the last few days, but otherwise this was discussed months ago.

I would love for folks to get past the UofL UCF thing...Its almost childish at this point....And UCF not getting into the Big East is just someones opinion.

UCF has moved forward as has Louisville moved forward. This is clearly a nothing to see here post.

With the continued expansion talk on this board, I was wondering what had come of this story... what the Louisville attitude was toward it; if there was any lingering resentment... thought it was relevant, wondering whether it would affect UCF in expansion discussions in this week's meetings... and I hadn't commented on this scandal back in May, and wanted to stay out of any squabbling... it had fallen off the radar, but was the NCAA still in the process of investigating this?... where does the investigation stand?... I mean, the recruiter was a convicted felon... surprised to hear, because the news broke since the last college hoops game, that Big East members would sweep it under the rug... thanks for the input from Cards backers...
