I was watching CNN yesterday, and they were doing a little snippet on the history of cocaine. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, it was widely culturally accepted (it would shock our kids), as the perfect medicine. It made EVERYTHING better. It was in the 20s and 30s that people began to see how dangerous it was, and back away from it.
