Upcoming season schedule
According to "Ask Coach Preston" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbBw96D7ZoU ) we will play 2 Big 12, 1 SEC, and 1 BigTen teams next season. Although many would feel that this would be exciting, especially if any(I highly, highly doubt) would be at KSU. Seeing the Convocation Center packed again like GT would be awesome. BUT, is this really appropriate? I mean it is good exposure, but losing to the last place team in the Big 12, Iowa State, by 40 last year was pretty embarrassing. I have high hopes for Preston, but playing power conferences with two pretty much three starters(Dixon, Green, and Robinson) ineligible is going to be interesting to watch. How do you guys feel?

RE: Upcoming season schedule
If we play Kansas State, Vince Dooley will definitely be confused.

I agree with you mike on probably Penn State and UGA maybe Florida. These may be Preston's previous coaches doing him a favor but most often prestigious head coaches will not schedule against former coaches. Tom Izzo won't schedule against previous assistants like when Tom Crean was at Marquette because he didn't want to hurt their possibilities. Now with both in BigTen that is kind of hard to avoid.

As for the NCAA record, who knows. I'm sure Wooden's UCLA or some other powerhouse dynasty has destroyed a bottom feeder at some point. I think KSU's worst loss in D1, not sure about program history, was last year at home vs. Belmont by 47, which was one of the only games I actually thought about leaving early.

RE: Upcoming season schedule
Yeah, but I have been on both ends of that situation playing and coaching. It is fun when your winning, but not so much on the other end. There is a difference between putting the bench in and not being able to do any wrong rather than leaving your starters in at the end. Belmont was also preparing for the tournament and they also had 8 or 9 players I think who averaged double digit minutes. I remember Byrd arguing with the ref with around 4 or 5 minutes left in the game up by 40 on a ticky-tack foul.

Do you know when the schedule release is? We could be set up to get creamed, but we don't know how well Preston can motivate. Ingle motivated a very low performing team to beat an okay team. I guess we will have to wait to see the energy of the team.
